#162 – WW2 British Home Front Senior Fire Guard Mk.II Helmet (Лот: 11908)
WW2 British Home Front Senior Fire Guard Mk.II Helmet, fine example of a Senior Fire Guards Mk.II helmet, with original white finish an black stripe around the helmet, denoting it’s a Senior FG. There is surface rusting coming through the paint in areas, but much of its original finish remains. This example is 1939 dated with the makers mark ‘HBH’ stamped into the underside of the rim, for ‘Harrison Bros & Howson’, who only made helmets between 1938 and 1940. The 1940 dated liner which has gone slightly brittle over the years is still present and in a good shape, complete with correct chin strap.

GERMAN WWII SA UNIT FLAG / STANDARTE, multi-piece construction, a red wool field w/ a 2 piece cotton center (swastika is early horizontal type), is double-sided, 44′ x 53′ & 3 sides have a 1 ½’ silver bullion fringe, ea. side has a 6′ x 7 ¾’ maroon (Ostland / Westfalen) wool patch w/ ‘2 / 55’ chain-stitched in white cotton, ea. unit patch has a gold bullion fringe, 2 of its several ties remain, the red wool has several holes, some small some on the large size, overall G. – G+

German Armed Forces Parade Bayonet by WKC, with two piece black chequered grips (damaged to the reverse), centre having winged propeller with swastika emblem. Housed in the original metal scabbard with blackened finish. Attached to the scabbard is an original black patented frog with cloth portepee / knot attached. Polished blade with makers trademark to the base. Blade 24 ½ cms, overall 40cms.

#163 – Regimentally Important Isle of Wight Rifles Forage Cap Badge and Collar Badges 1902-08 on Retailers Card Belonging to Colonel Hobart, First Commanding Officer of the Regiment (Лот: 8755)
Regimentally Important Isle of Wight Rifles Forage Cap Badge and Collar Badges 1902-08 on Retailers Card Belonging to Colonel Hobart, First Commanding Officer of the Regiment, fine officers bronze Broderick / Forage cap badge in bronze with blade fittings to the reverse, accompanied by a pair of bronze collar badges and a small silvered strung bugle emblem insignia. All mounted onto a Samuel Brothers Ltd, London, retailers card. Part of the estate of Colonel Hobart, the first commander of the 8th Territorial Battalion Isle of Wight Rifles. n December 1906, Major Hobart retired from the Regular Army, and was placed on the Reserve of Officers; but in 1908, on the inauguration of the Territorial Force, he was appointed Lieutenant Colonel Commanding Princess Beatrice’s Isle of Wight Rifles (8th Battalion The Hampshire Regiment), which he raised and reorganized from a small volunteer nucleus and commanded till 1913, when he retired. He again acted as Gold Staff Officer at a Coronation—that of King George V and Queen Mary, in 1911. On the European War breaking out in 1914, Lieutenant Colonel Hobart, after serving for short periods on the Embarkation Staff at Southampton and the Military Landing Staff at Havre, was sent to the front in Flanders as a Railhead Commandant, being subsequently appointed Administrative Commandant of the railheads of an army. He was mentioned in Despatches in 1916 and 1918, and received the 1914 Star. Lieutenant Colonel C V C Hobart married, on 10 December 1900, at St Peter’s, Eaton Square, London, Violet Verve, second daughter of John Wylie, of West Cliff Hall, Hants, and they had one son, Robert Hampden, born 7 May 1915.his badge grouping was purchased by Rod Flood at auction many years ago along with a number of other items including his full uniform which we sold in February 2023. We believe that the items had been sold by family descent at that time. Late Rod Flood collection.

WW2 British Mk.II Helmet with Hampshire Regiment Decal, Lovely Mk.II British helmet with Hampshire regiment decal to the front. This example retains its original green finish applied to the exterior and interior of the helmet. The outer surface being slightly textured. Some rusting has started to appear through the paint but doesn’t detract to the helmet’s patina. Most importantly is the original water slide decal that’s been applied to the front of the helmet, that of the Hampshire regiment. Dated 1940 to the inner rim and makers marked, ‘F&L’ – ‘Fisher & Ludlow’. Liner is missing its top pad, otherwise in fair condition and complete with chin strap.

Axis Forces Romanian Officers Sword, fine example of a German made, E & F Hörster, Solingen, with white metal mounts, eagle head pommel with jewelled eyes, black celluloid grip with wire binding and swept hilt guard. Attached to the grip is officers bullion and cloth portepee / knot. Housed in steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Finely etched blade with crowned monogram and ‘TOLEDO’ to the obverse, the reverse has foliage coat of arms and makers details. Blade remains in excellent overall condition. Blade 73cms, overall 89 ½ cms.

Regimentally Important Isle of Wight Rifles Cap Badge Sent to Colonel Hobart by Jennens & Co for Approval and Handwritten Note Ordering Badges Required, being a bronzed enlisted ranks pattern cap badge with lug fittings to the reverse.
