Victorian 3rd Volunteer Battalion East Surrey Regiment Helmet Plate, fine blackened other ranks example, crowned Maltese cross with each arm having a town, ‘KINGSTON’, ‘RICHMOND’, ‘CHERTSEY’ and ‘ESHER’. Centre with regimental details and East Surrey regimental crest. Three lug fittings to the reverse of the plate.

WW2 German Army Officers Sword with Triple Etched Blade Infantry Regiment No 119 Stuttgart by WKC, fine quality officers sword, being the WKC model nr 1056 with applied silvered down winged eagle to the langet and top pommel cap. Much of the gilt wash finish remains to the hilt. Leather and silver wire officers sword knot attached to the grip. Blackened scabbard with single hanging ring. Curved blade which is finely triple etched, obverse having foliage, central crossed rifles and steel helmet and ribbons with inscription ‘Fur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit’, spine engraved with foliage and the reverse of the blade etched with foliage and ‘Infanterie Regiment No 119 Stuttgart’. Blade measures 76 ½ cms, overall 92 ½ cms.

US CIVIL WAR PERIOD UNION BUMMERS CAP, OFFICERS, blue wool 6 ¼’ tall in rear & 5 ½’ in front & the diameter on top is 5′, a black patent leather visor which extends 1 5/8’s’ & has a matching chin-strap having ‘I’ Infantry eagle side-buttons, has a black satin lining w/ a loose makers label ‘Sam Sturgis / Hat Maker, / opposite the Golden Key / Fore Street Boston’. Its dark leather sweatband is 1 ½’ wide, on front is a 2 ¾’ x 1 ¾’ black velour oval w/ a gold bullion oakleaf & ‘U.S.’ in silver bullion, has some period repairs & fairly bad mothing, still a good look, G. – G+

COSSACK’, Queens South Africa medal with clasp Natal, impressed naming, ‘G.H. HATCHLEY P.O. 1ST CL. H.M.S. WIDGEON’, 1914-15 Star medal, ‘122728 G.H. HATCHLEY, P.O. R.N.’, British War and Victory medal, ‘122728 G.H. HATCHLEY, P.O.1 R.N.’, Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct medal, VR, impressed, ‘G.H. HATCHLEY LDG. SEA., H.M.S. VIVID’. Some edge knocks to Q.S.A.90 East & West Africa medals with Witu clasp issued to Cossack and 72 Q.S.A.’s with clasp Natal issued to Widgeon.eorge Henry Hatchley was born on 23rd December 1866 in Seaton Devon. He started his career in the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on HMS Impregnable on 27th March 1883. He is present on the rolls for the East & West Africa medal and the Q.S.A., both clasps are also confirmed. His Long Service medal was confirmed on 21st January 1895. Discharged to pension on 31st December 1904 he joined the Royal Fleet Reserve on 14rh January 1905. Recalled for service on 2nd August 1914 he was invalided out of the service on 9th May 1917 due to and injury to his left eye and was issued with a Silver War Badge.

IMPERIAL GERMAN BAVARIAN RESERVE OFFICERS SPIKED HELMET PICKELHAUBE, black patented leather body w/ brass mounts, double lion helmet plate has ‘In Treue Fest’ & has a silver reserve cross mounted in center, w/ brass chin-scales & proper color rosettes along w/ a 4 ½’ tall fluted officers spike, the front visor is squared off & has black trim, has a brown leather liner & a tan silk inside lining (stained), very nice attractive helmet, low exc.

Three lug fittings to the reverse; Victorian white metal glengarry badge with crowned strap having ‘QUEEN’S WESTR RIFLE VOLRS’ and Portcullis to centre, two lug fittings to the reverse (screw post fittings previously present); white metal Queens Westminster Rifle Volunteers pouch badge with three screw post fittings to the reverse; single regimental collar badge and brass other ranks small type button. WW2 German Army Officers Sword with Damascus Blade, fine example of a German army officers dress sword with gilded metal engraved fittings, langet with down winged eagle, oakleaves to the knuckle guard and oakleaves to pommel and back strap. Wire binding to the black celluloid grip. Attached to the grip is the original officers dress portepee / knot. Housed in its original blackened scabbard. Fine slightly curved piped back blade which has wavy Damascus pattern. Un-maker marked to the blade. The blade measures 78 ¾ cms, overall 98cms. Possibly produced by Carl Eickhorn or Alcoso.
