WW2 1942 Dated British Airborne Forces Denison Smock Belonging to Sergeant Charles Kneale, 1stAirborne Division, Veteran of the Battle of Arnhem,fine example of a 1stpattern Denison smock with the original wool cuffs. Half front zip. Sergeants rank chevrons to the arm. Complete with the original crutch strap. Interior of the smock has the original 1942 dated size label. Inside the pocket of the smock was an original camouflaged scarf but also a copy of a photograph of the original owner Charles Kneale, a letter to the previous owner and a newspaper cutting about the original owner Charles Kneale, who was not only a former Liverpool and Crewe Alexander footballer but also a veteran of the 1stAirborne division, the article states he served for six years with the 1stAirborne division in North Africa, Italy and Sicily and at Arnhem. The smock has never been in another collection since being acquired by the current vendor. Mr Kneale lived locally to the current vendor.

WW2 German Iron Cross 2nd Class Award and Citation Grouping, consisting of an unmarked Iron Cross 2nd class without ribbon accompanied by the official award citation issued in June 1940 to Gefreiten Walter Schönfelder Armee-Pferdelazarett 542, signed by Generaloberst, later Generalfeldmarschall Walter von Reichenau, holder of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross and who died on the Eastern Front in 1942. Eastern Front medal with citation awarded to Schönfelder and bronze drivers sleeve badge with citation. Interesting grouping.

Post 1936 British Union of Fascists (B.U.F) Members Stick Pin, being gilded Fasces on enamel shield in the form of the Union Jack with B U in gilt letters. Reverse of the badge has long pin fitting. Generally good condition. Post 1936 versions of this badge had the letter F removed from the centre of the badge according to the book ‘Mosley’s Men in Black’ by John Millican

Scarce WW2 British 1st Pattern Dispatch Riders Overcoat, constructed from waterproof rubberised material, button front with two lower pockets. Eyelets under the armpits. Size stamped ‘5’ under broad arrow and 1941 date, also war department stamped with date letter ‘P’. Good example of not an easy jacket to find.

Accompanied by the original award citation issued to Obergefreiten Philipp Buchner 13. (I.G) / Grenadier Regiment 754. Issued on 2nd July 1944 and signed by the General Major and commander of 334th Infantry Division, Generalleutnant Hellmuth Böhlke, holder of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oakleaves. Post 1902 Queens Own Cameron Highlanders Officers Full Dress Sporran, fine example with gilt metal cantle having relief of thistles, centre with oval having silvered crowned thistle in wreath and the oval with regimental details, underneath three scrolls with battle honour ‘PENINSULA’, ‘EGYPT’ and ‘WATERLOO’. Remains in generally good condition. Re-offered due to non-paying bidder.
