Arms of the cross with studded panels and the four arms of the cross each with a battle honour, ‘EGYPT’, ‘PENINSULA’, ‘WATERLOO’ and ‘BHURTPORE’. Old solder repairs to the reverse of the plate. One screw post remaining to the reverse. Displays well from the front.

Fine deep orange celluloid grip. Reverse of the cross guard is engraved with the initials of the original owner. Housed in the original scabbard with two band hanging rings. One screw missing from the scabbard. Plain double edged blade with makers trademark to the base. Some light surface wear to the blade. The blade measures 25 ½ cms, overall 40cms.

He spent 2 years and 163 days in South Africa.
