#530 – Rare WW2 German Army Infantry Section Regimental Standarte (Лот: 6433)
Rare WW2 German Army Infantry Section Regimental Standarte, superb and iconic item of Third Reich militaria being the official infantry regimental standard which is constructed from fine quality white silk with wire fringing to three sides of the flag. To the centre of each side is a finely embroidered large German army eagle in black picked out in brown and with bullion wire to the eagles beak and talons. The eagle is set within a silver wire embroidered wreath placed upon a large black Iron Cross. Black swastikas to each corner which are outlined in silver aluminium wire brocade. The flag is complete with the extra silk to attach to the carrying pole, marks where it has been removed from the pole. The flag has some light stains but is generally a very good example. Measures 128 x 122cms (not including fringing). These regimental standartes were iconic items from the Third Reich era with many of the propaganda rallies showing the military might of the Wehrmacht, included marches with these regimental standartes held aloft. In 1945 the Soviet Russian victory parade, they used these captured standartes as a propaganda tool, to show the defeated might of the Wehrmacht, famously throwing them down in a heap. The Moscow army museum has one of the largest collections of these standartes, which were the examples shown in the victory parade. Rare chance to obtain one of the rarest flags of the Third Reich era
