Queens South Africa Medal to a Recipient in the Royal Army Medical Corps, medal with 3 clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal, impressed naming, ‘13211 PTE W.G. CLEMENT R.A.M.C.’, edge bruise at 6 o’clock position. illiam George Clement from Holybourne in Hampshire attested for the Royal Army Medical Corps on 19th February 1900. Transferred to the Reserve on 18th February 1908 he was remobilised on 5th August 1914 serving until he transferred to Class Z Army Reserve on 4th February 1919. Medal and 3 clasps is confirmed ion the medal roll, he is also entitled to the Kings medal and a 1914 Star trio for his service in the Great War.

US Non-Regulation Civil War Officers Sword, style is like a British Model 1822, the ricasso is marked. ‘Clauberg, Solingen’, the double engraved blade has a patriotic eagle along w/ ‘U.S.’ etc., the blade is bright but has been cleaned, has a pierced iron guard w/ eagle design, the hilt is nickeled as is correct, 95% of dark leather grip & copper wire wrap are intact, iron scabbard is also nickeled, these are a handsome sword favoured by several officers, VG++

Great War Victory Medal and Memorial Plaque to a Recipient in the 1/4th Hampshire Regiment Who Died in Mesopotamia, Victory Medal, ‘3243 PTE. T.E. HARRIS HAMPS. R.’ with Memorial Plaque, ‘THOMAS EDWARD HARRIS’. Born in Yorktown Surrey, Thomas Harris was serving with the 1/4th Battalion Hampshire Regiment when he died on 3rd February 1917. He now rests in an identified grave in Amara War Cemetery, Iraq. He is also entitled to a British War Medal.

Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger by RZM 121/34, good example of a RZM made dress dagger with ebony grip having eagle and enamel SS rune insignia. The lower cross guard is not district stamped which is typical of daggers by this RZM manufacturer. Double edged blade with motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and reverse with RZM logo SS runes and ‘121/34’ between. The blade 22cms, overall 37cms. Some crazing to the finish on the scabbard and evidence of a vertical hanger once being present.

SHARP, R.A.M.C.’ ichard Sharp a 20-year-old clerk from St Pauls, Maidstone attested for service on 13th March 1900. He served for a total of 1 year and 240 days which included 1 year and 222 days in South Africa before his discharge on 6th November 1901. edal and all 4 clasps are confirmed on the medal rolls.

Great War Memorial Plaque to a member of the Honourable Artillery Company who Died of Wounds at Home, bronze memorial plaque, ‘HUGH VICTOR TURNILL’. 20-year-old Hugh Victor Turnill served in France with 3rd Battalion Honourable Artillery Company from 25th December 1916 until 30th March 1917 when he returned to the UK having received a GSW to the leg. Sadly he died from the effects of this wound on 15th April 1917 and he now rest in Warmington (St Mary) Churchyard, Northamptonshire. There are 3 War Grave Commission graves in this churchyard.

LAW R.W. KENT R.’ small edge bruise to number, 1939-45 Star medal, Africa Star medal, Italy Star medal, Defence medal, War medal 1939-45, all unnamed as issued, Efficiency medal, EIIR, with Territorial Suspender, ‘22297613 CPL J.S. LAW R.E.M.E.’, Malta George Cross 50th Anniversary Commemorative medal. Group mounted as worn on a pin back ribbon bar. Served with the 2nd Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment during the Palestine campaign, 6344149 S.J Law is shown as being wounded on Casualty List 1358, 2nd February 1944. The Efficiency medal was announced on List 172, 29th May 1992. Due to the 53 year span between qualifying for the Palestine medal and the issue of the Efficiency medal we are unsure if this is a group to one person or a family group to 2 recipients.
