Sudanese Mahdist Period Sword Kaskara, broad straight double edge blade 96cms cut with a long single narrow fuller flanked by a short pair of similar fullers and struck with crescent moons, and etched with short Islamic inscriptions, brass crosspiece, leather covered grip and pommel (chipped), in its leather scabbard with swollen tip (hanging bands missing). Good condition, some age wear overall.

Axis Croation Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir 1st Class Neck Order with Recipient Photograph, Tombac construction with enamelled surface. Very good condition with light signs of wear. The neck order comes with its original red/white ribbon. With the order a portrait of a German officer with the rank of Oberst, wearing this Croatian Crown order underneath the Romanian crown order. On the reverse of the photo well described in German and dated Christmas 1942.

#434 – Rare WW2 German Army NCO’s / Enlisted Ranks Sword with Triple Etched Blade for Artillery Regiment No22 (Лот: 6337)
Rare WW2 German Army NCO’s / Enlisted Ranks Sword with Triple Etched Blade for Artillery Regiment No22, fine example of a standard enlisted ranks sword with plain mounts, black celluloid grip with the wire binding. Housed in its blackened scabbard with single hanging ring. The sword has a rare Third Reich period triple etched blade with regimental details of ‘Artillerie Regiment No 22 II.Abt’ with foliage and the reverse of the blade also etched with foliage and panel with scene of mounted Artillery troops flanked by two down winged German army (heer) pattern eagles and swastikas. Etching to the spine of the blade also. The blade measures 80cms, overall 101cms. Examples of etched blades from the Third Reich period are very hard to find on dress swords compared to those of the Imperial German and Weimar period. In WW2 they tended to etch parade bayonets over swords as momentos of service. The 22nd Artillery regiment was part of the22nd Infantry Division, which soon became the22nd Air Landing Division, was a specialized German infantry division. Its primary method of transportation was gliders. The division played a significant role in the development of modern dayair assaultoperations. Towards the end of the war, the formation was reshaped into the22nd Volksgrenadier Division.

Sudanese Mahdist Period Sword Kaskara, broad straight double edge blade 87.5cms of European manufacture, struck with maker’s mark of a cockerel above PA and with traces of etched decoration, iron crosspiece, grip covered with sheet silver embossed with geometric decoration, silver wire binding, and with silver covered pommel with engraved and filigree decoration, in its leather scabbard retaining 1 suspension band and silver ring (repaired break, extreme tip missing). Good condition, blade medium pitted.

Third Reich Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Dress Dagger by SMF, Solingen, fine untouched example of a 1st pattern Luftwaffe dress dagger with much of the gilt wash finish remaining to the mobile swastika in the pommel and cross guard. Blue leather covered grip with wire binding. Housed in its original blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver fittings. Attached to the scabbard is the original hanging chains with clip fitting. Nice patina to the exterior fittings. Double edged blade with makers trademark to the base. The blade measures 30 ½ cms, overall 48cms. Generally a good untouched example, some leather loss to the scabbard but otherwise a good example.
