Heavy lead lid with brass handle. Some damage and repair to the base and one side. Measurements approx 24x 17 ½ x 17 ½ cms. An unusual early item of nautical history.

The poster has printed details to the bottom corner and is marked ‘ARMY FORM A3682’. Small paper loss to the top but otherwise good condition. Measures 50 ½ x 76cms.

#330 – Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Model 1936 Officers Chained Dress Dagger (Лот: 10396)
Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Model 1936 Officers Chained Dress Dagger, fine example with ebony grip having aluminium eagle and enamel SS runes inserted. Grip mounts unmarked with just some small areas of verdigris which would clean off. Housed in its anodised scabbard with Type B hanging chains, with closed loops, skull without nasal septum and tapered top upper links. Reverse of the chain with SS rune acceptance stamp. Excellent condition blade with much of the original finish remaining. Motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and correct no makers trademark. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Small area of repair to the grip on the lower front section and also around the eagle, but generally a very good example of a SS officers dress dagger. See the reference work, ‘The Service Daggers of the SS’ by Siegert for attribution of the chains type, the reference work by Thomas T Wittmann also shows this type of chain but he lists it as a Type 2.
