Underneath its heavy black patina the badge, apart from some typical zinc bubbling, remains in very good condition with all all of its finish perfectly preserved. Combat-worn example that lost both its catch and pin as well as most of its Silver finish. Two holes were made in the badge so it could be sewn back on to the uniform. Unmarked but safely attributed to the Gablonz-based maker Josef Feix & Söhne. an early variant that received a strong two-tone silver finish and apart from light finish loss survived in very good condition. A ‘Die 1’ variant that clearly saw its share of the action. Clear traces of heavy combat wear and a rather crudely executed catch repair. A second so-called ‘organized grass’ pattern. Overall good condition with some polish residue stuck on the obverse and some thread from the uniform attachment still stuck around the hinge. (cf.
