Boer War Medal Pair to the Railway Pioneer Regiment, Queens South Africa medal with three clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal, ‘874 PTE. W. DONALD RLY: PNR: REGT’ with Kings South Africa medal with 2 clasps, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902, ‘874 PTE. W. DONALD RLY: PNR: REGT’. William Donald attested for service on 11th January 1900 and was discharged at Johannesburg on 10th January 1902. He is confirmed on the 1st Railway Pioneer Regiment roll for both medals and clasps.

Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen with Gilded Motto and Makers Trademark, interesting example of a standard SA dress dagger with brown wooden handle having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device. Fine condition grip mounts with the reverse of the lower guard being stamped ‘Nm’. Housed in the original scabbard with single hanging ring. Denting to the ball of the lower scabbard mount. Good condition double edged blade with the motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ which has been gilded, as has the Carl Eickhorn makers trademark to the reverse. Interestingly on the obverse of the blade near the lower cross guard is the remains of another stamp. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37 ½ cms. Page 296 & 297 of ‘The Service Daggers of the SA and NSKK’ by Siegert, shows a SA marine dagger with a gilded motto.

British Victorian Egypt & Sudan Campaign Medal Pair to the 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders, Egypt medal 1882-89, reverse dated 1882 with clasps Tel-el-Kebir, Suakin 1884 and El-Teb-Tamaai, engraved naming, ‘2183 PTE T. TROWBRIDGE. 1/GORD: HIGHRS’, some contact marks from star, Khedive’s Star, obverse dated 1884, unnamed as issued. edal and Tel-el-Kebir clasp confirmed on the roll to 2183 Private T Trowbridge, he is also confirmed on the roll, for the Khedive’s Star. or the later campaigns his regimental number has changed to 800 and he is confirmed on the roll as entitled to the Suakin clasp and as being present at the actions of El Teb and Tamaai.

Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque, awarded to ‘JAMES WILLIAM DYER’, generally good condition. 2 men of this name died during the Great War, 9th Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps, died 18th August 1917, buried Perch Cemetery (China Wall), Belgium and 9th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, died 21st August 1915, commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey.

Sole Entitlement Victorian Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal to the Royal Engineers, Army Long Service and Good Conduct medal, VR, 3rd issue, small letter reverse, impressed naming ‘3368 CORPL R. BLACKBOURN, RL ENGRS’ 1 small edge knock. 20 year old Richard Blackbourn from Hull attested for the Royal Engineers on 7th August 1855. Her served for 21 years and 16 days of which 11 years and 183 days were spent in Gibraltar with the 25th Company. His Long Service medal was confirmed in in Aug 1875 and he was discharged on 22nd August 1876 with this being his only medal entitlement.

Third Reich Erased Rohm Inscription SA (Sturmabteilung) Dagger by EP&S with Replaced Dedication to Reverse, good example with brown wooden grip, nickel silver eagle and enamel SA emblem. Nickel plated mounts with the lower mount being stamped ‘Wf’. Housed in the original anodised scabbard, lower scabbard mount ball heavily dented and cracked. Double edged blade with ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ motto. Reverse of the blade has the makers trademark and is etched with motto ‘Die Treue ist das Mart der Ehre’, the motto has been placed over the top of where a Ernst Rohm dedication had been officially removed. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Blade with some surface pitting, wear to the grip and scratches to the scabbard centre.

Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque 1st / 4th Royal Scots Fusiliers Palestine Casualty, awarded to ‘DOUGLAS GREIG DUNCAN’, some verdigris present on the edge of the plaque. 202871 Private Douglas Greig Duncan 1st/4th Royal Scots Fusiliers. From Newmilns Ayreshire he died in Palestine on 19th April 1917 aged 20 years old and is buried in Gaza War Cemetery, Israel and Palestine. Entitled to a British War and Victory medal.
