TRIBE HMY VICTORIA & ALBERT’, 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star, War medal 1939-45, 1935 Jubilee medal, 1937 Coronation medal, Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct medal, GV 2nd type, correctly named ‘K.59455 R.G. TRIBE STO.1 H.M.Y. VICTORIA & ALBERT’. Medals mounted as worn on 2 pin back bars, the 1st 6 on one bar with the last 3 on another bar. Second World War, Jubilee and Coronation medals unnamed as issued. Robert Geoge Tribe was born in Withernsea, Yorkshire on 26th April 1901. He joined the Royal Navy as a Stoker on 20th January 1921 serving on HMY Victoria & Albert from February 1926 through to May 1940. He was finally released from service on 19th September 1946. Robert George Tribe is confirmed on the rolls for the Jubilee and Coronation medals on Victoria & Albert and his Long Service medal was awarded 25th March 1936. We have not been able to confirm the award of the 2 Great War medals and believe these to have been self-awarded.
