Imperial German Prussian and Bavarian Buckle Grouping, consisting of two other ranks belt buckles with riveted front plate ‘In treue Fest’ and ‘Gott Mit Uns’; 1914 Iron cross 2nd class, maker marked ‘M’ in ring; 3 piece 9mm miniature with EK1, EK2 and wound badge silver; Kriegerverein tinnie. All in very good condition.

WWI German Souvenir ‘Hate Belt’ Assembled by Sergeant L.R. RIDGE, HQ Coy, United States 38th Infantry, with his initials mounted on the belt. A remarkable collection of 21 German items including black and silver wound badges, fine officer’s epaulette insignia to the Prussian Hussar Regt ‘Koenig Wilhelm I’ (WRI cipher), Baden & Oldenburg (W over II), Royal Prussian Airship Battalion No. 4 (L4), Saxon & Thuringian States etc. German buttons include a large Hussar officer’s gilt rosette for the Attila, large Sergeanten collar buttons for Bavaria (pre and post 1916), Hessen and Mecklenburg-Schwerin, smaller Gefreiter collar buttons to Bavaria, Prussia and Hessen. German national, naval, motorised buttons and insignia; six U.S. and five Russian buttons. Two large U.S. insignia with loops to the reverse and a postcard from Ridge to his mother in Burton, Ohio, dated April 1919 and another. (5 items)

Scarce Imperial German Saxon Garde Reiter Dress Pouch, untouched as found example of the dress pouch for the elite Saxon cavalry regiment with brass front section with Saxon crowned shield, banners and crossed cannons to the centre. Metal pouch with the remains of the leather backing. Well worn and areas of damage, pouch lid just hanging on to base of pouch.

WW1 German Fernglas 08 Binoculars, fine examples retaining much of the field grey paint finish to the body of the binoculars. C P Goerz Berlin makers details. Complete with leather shoulder strap. Small area of damage to the lens cap, but the optics still remain clean.

#386 – WW1 German Trench Body Armour (Sappenpanzer) (Лот: 6289)
WW1 German Trench Body Armour (Sappenpanzer), good example of a 1st pattern 1st type trench body armour ‘Sappenpanzer’ with the high neck. Complete with the three lower plates. Set is in untouched condition with much of the original field grey paint finish remaining. The armour has the original straps and horsehair pads between the lower plates. A rusting to the plates but this is all part of the character. Said to have been worn by snipers in forward positions and machine gunners in stationary positions.

Imperial Austro-Hungarian Railway Officials Sword, straight single edge plated blade stamped ROBERT HERMES SOLINGEN, and AKNOYM WIEN (the latter obscured by the side guard), regulation pattern brass hilt with traces of gilding, in its leather covered iron scabbard with regulation pattern embossed brass mounts.Good condition, some age wear, scabbard and hanging band repaired.Blade 79.5cms, overall 94cms.This lot is being sold to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND), all proceeds will be donated to the charity, including auction commission.

Rare WW1 German M1860/98 Conversion Bayonet, being a period conversion with a M1860 fusilier blade in a model 98/05 mauser bayonet hilt. Blade with makers details of W Clauberg Solingen. Issue stampings to the blade and the hilt. Some pitting and wear but a scarce conversion bayonet. The blade measures 50 ½ cms, overall 64cms. See ‘German Bayonets Vol IV’ by Carter.

Rare Imperial German Bavarian M1869/98 Conversion Bayonet, interesting example being a WW1 conversion using a blade from a M1869 Bavarian Werder rifle bayonet fitted to a Mauser Model 1898 hilt. Acceptance stamps to the reverse of the hilt. Blade edge stamped ‘3’. Remains in generally good condition with just some surface pitting and evidence of cleaning. No scabbard. Blade 46 ¾ cms, overall 60 cms.

Imperial German S84/98 Bayonet, with two piece wooden grips, steel pommel and short cross guard. Housed in a steel scabbard. Rear of the cross guard stamped with regimental markings, ’12. R. 4. 240′. Single edged blade with fuller to the back edge. Spine stamped with acceptance stamp and crowned ‘W’ over 87. Base of the blade with makers mark ‘ALEX COPPEL SOLINGEN’. Blade 25cms, overall 39 ½ cms.
