IMPERIAL GERMAN NAVAL OFFICERS GROSSER HILT SWORD WITH DAMASCUS BLADE, super untouched example of the rare to find Groser Hilt type naval officers sword with polished bone grip having wire binding, lion head with jewelled eyes. Large dish guard with crowned anchor to the centre. Attached to the grip is the original officers sword portepee with red and black fleck. Housed in its leather and brass mounted scabbard. The folding rear guard is engraved with the officers name ‘Victor Schutze’. Piped back wide blade with Damascus pattern the full length. Early WKC makers trademark to one side and distributors stamp to the other. The sword remains in generally good uncleaned condition.
