#189 – Rare WW1 Royal Flying Corps / Royal Air Force Sidcot Flying Suit (Лот: 11935)
Rare WW1 Royal Flying Corps / Royal Air Force Sidcot Flying Suit, the heavy padded canvas flight suite more knowingly worn during WW2 but was brought into service in the late stages of 1917 and early 1918. The khaki suit has buttoned front and the large angled map pocket. Large lower knee pockets and the ankles are buttoned. Fur lined interior of the suit. The suit shows some service wear with some stitching faults and missing buttons, but overall is a good example of a very rare item of WW1 flying clothing. These suits were introduced to replace the brown leather flight jackets which were used in the early part of WW1.

#190 – WW2 British Officers Battle Dress Blouse, 47th (Wythenshawe) Battalion Manchester Home Guard (Лот: 11936)
WW2 British Officers Battle Dress Blouse, 47th (Wythenshawe) Battalion Manchester Home Guard, Lovely original wartime battle dress blouse, to a Manchester Home Guard Lieutenant of the 47th Wythenshawe Bn. The insignia is applied to each arm by means of hand stitching and two Khaki pips sit upon each epaulette. The Home Guard titles are blue on khaki which denote areas or zones covered by the Manchester’s Home Guard units. Below the printed ‘MAN’ and ’47’ patches sit in the usual HG way. The blouse itself is of the early ‘Battle Dress, Blouses Serge’ pattern with its unlined collar and twin interior pockets. The label that still remains, shows the blouse to be a size 17, and 1940 dated, made by Rego Clothiers Ltd. Some wear to one cuff edge and little to no mothing. Good example of an early originally patched up blouse.

#191 – WW2 British 3rd Infantry Division Battle Dress Blouse, Pioneer Corps (Лот: 11937)
WW2 British 3rd Infantry Division Battle Dress Blouse, Pioneer Corps, Austerity battle dress blouse as badged to a Sergeant of the Pioneer Corps in the 3rd infantry division. Printed titles to each shoulder and a ‘combination’ patch of the 3rd Inf Division patch with the arm of service stripe below, sown onto a separate piece of serge before being applied to the blouse, a common wartime practice. The insignia is quite worn and discoloured by the sun. One of the AoS stripes is applied the wrong way around, not an uncommon error seen on BD. Printed Sgt stripes have been applied to each arm. The blouse itself has unfortunately seen better days, suffering from heavy mothing and creating large holes in the serge. The label in situ shows it to be a size 13, 1943 dated and made by ‘Town Tailors Ltd’. A mixture of different button across the blouse and heavy sun bleaching, in particular to the left arm. Despite the condition the blouse strikes as an almost ‘in theatre’ worn piece, to a well-known infantry division which served with great distinction in the North West Europe campaign.

#192 – WW2 British 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards Battle Dress Blouse (Лот: 11938)
WW2 British 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards Battle Dress Blouse, A beautiful example of a Guards Armoured Division battle dress blouse. This one being to a corporal of the 1st Armd Bn Coldstream Guards, 5th Armoured Brigade, Guards Armd Div. The insignia, embroidered titles, and the Guards divisional patch to the arms are in great appearance and applied via lovely period hand stitching. The Numeral ‘I’ denotes the 1st Battalion. The original label is in place, dating the blouse to 1944 and in size 13. The guardsman’s services number is ink stamped into the waist band of the jacket, ‘2665040’ which comes under the Coldstream Guards service number allocations. The ribbons of the ’39-45′ Star and the ‘France & Germany’ Star sit upon the chest. Overall, the blouse is in fairly good condition, its only fault is the collar hooks have rusted over time and stained some of the lining. That being said, it’s a fantastic period blouse with period applied insignia, somewhat becoming harder to find on today’s market.
