Third Reich Shooting Association (Deutscher Schutzen-Verband) Dagger by Robert Klaas, Solingen, fine example with stag horn grip having brass crossed rifles to the centre. Nickel plated top pommel and cross guard with acorn finials. Clamshell guard with enamel Deutscher Schützen-Verband emblem to the centre. Housed in its original leather and plated mounts scabbard. Complete with the leather belt frog. Fine single edged blade etched with hunting scenes, shooting mementos, etc. Blade with makers trademark to the base. The blade measures 39 ¼ cms, overall 55 ½ cms.

WW2 Royal Artillery Foreign Service Wolseley Pattern Sun Helmet, fine cloth covered cork sun helmet with six fold cloth pagri, side with RA cloth pagri badge with Royal Artillery brass badge to the centre. Interior with foil lining and tan leather sweatband with paper size label. Underside of the sweatband with war department stamp with date letter ‘Q’ for 1940. Generally good example.

Regimental lace to the edging. Leather backing to the sash with Hobson and Sons tailors label. Very fine example.

Plated top pommel and cross guard with acorn finials. Clamshell guard with enamel Deutscher Schützen-Verband emblem to the centre. Housed in its original leather and plated mounts scabbard. Fine single edged blade etched with hunting scenes, shooting mementos, etc. Blade with makers trademark to the base. The blade measures 39 ¾ cms, overall 54 ¾ cms. Fittings with some pitting / corrosion. Leather scabbard damaged and shrunk making it not fit into the scabbard correctly.

Rare Georgian Irish Militia Officers Shoulder Belt Plate of the Dunfanaghy Cavalry, the silver (not hallmarked) oval officers shoulder belt plate with engraved crowned winged harp to the centre, top with scroll ‘DUNFANAGHY’ and bottom ‘CAVALRY’. The reverse of the plate with two hooks and two stud fittings.Dunfanaghy Militia Cavalry raised by Robert Stewart (1st Marquis of Londonderry).

#153 – Attributed WW2 No6 Commando Cloth Shoulder Titles (Лот: 10219)
Attributed WW2 No6 Commando Cloth Shoulder Titles, interesting pair of embroidered red on black cloth shoulder titles. Larger than the standard type seen, indicating possibly early war manufacture. These titles were purchased by the late Bill Ellison along with the Commando knife of L/Cpl. Sydney “Danny” Dann, No3 Troop, No6 Commando, See lot — for his commando knife. L/Cpl. Sydney “Danny” Dann, formerly of the of the Essex Regiment, RASC, REME & Royal Army Catering Corps (RACC), then of No.3 Troop – Lt. Marshall Leaphard’s section – of No.6 Commando from, at least, 5th June 1944. He as promoted to L/Cpl. from Prt. shortly after D-Day. It is noted that Sydney Dann came originally from Peckham (London) and worked as a “Charge Hand” in the Co-Op Butchery in Dagenham (Kent) before being “called to the colours” in the Essex Regiment, but was soon transferred to the newly formed RACC due to his civilian trade. He volunteered for the Commandos and finally entered training at Achnacarry in January 1942. After the war he is noted as working in the Insurance profession.

WW2 British Slouch / Bush Hat Reputed to Have Been Worn by a Prisoner of War Working on the Burma Railway,standard felt bush / slouch cap with 12 fold cloth pagri. Brown leather sweatband to the interior, remains of the leather chinstrap. Cap with a inked label stating, ‘SLOUCH HAT WORN BY A PRISONER ON THE BURMA RAILWAY. GIVEN TO KEN DULSON RAF WHO WAS TRAINNG AS A PILOT AT THE END OF WW2 AND ENDED UP DRIVING A FIRE ENGINE IN JAPAN’. Period repair to the front of the cap.
