Late 19th / Early 20th Century Notebook Album, compiled possibly by a nurse, with many inked illustrations, notes and poems etc, many of which signed and dated to the corner of the page. Some dating from the WW1 period and others earlier and later. Well executed. All housed in a period ‘For Pen and Pencil Jottings’ album.

#101 – Scarce WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Double Etched Blade by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen (Лот: 7290)
Scarce WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Double Etched Blade by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, fine example of a standard 2nd model dress dagger with white celluloid grip retaining the wire binding. Pommel with swastika to both sides and cross guard in the form of a eagle in flight. Attached to the grip is the original officers full dress portepee / knot. Housed in the original scabbard with two bands and hanging rings which the pair of deluxe pattern brocade hanging straps are attached too. The blade is double etched with foliage and droop tail Luftwaffe eagle to the front and the reverse side has foliage and ‘Jagdgeschwader 5 Eismeerjäger’. Oval Carl Eickhorn makers trade mark to the base. Some light areas of pitting to the blade but generally a good condition example. Blade 24 ¾ cms, overall 43 ½ cms.

OFFICERS HAT, a tall ‘cowboy’ style, black felt 6′ tall, this never had a lining but has a 2′ wide brown leather sweatband w/ maker ‘The Fifth Avenue’, comes w/ a gold bullion officers hat cord a 1 2/3′ x 1 ¾’ bullion & cloth 5th Corps badge on the side w/ a brass ‘GAR’ emblem w/ unit # ‘5’ mounted on front, overall is EXC.

Great War Memorial Plaque and Scroll to the 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment, bronze memorial plaque awarded to ‘MAURICE RICHARDSON’ with Memorial Scroll, ‘PTE. MAURICE RICHARDSON, HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT’, both items mounted one above the other in a single period wooden frame, the scroll glazed. 20362 Private Maurice Richardson from Winchester served in the 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment and was killed in action on 3rd September 1916 and now rests in an identified grave in Hamel Military Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel. Also appears in records as Edward Maurice Richardson and on Commonwealth War Graves Commission as W.M. Richardson.

WW2 German Unit Marked Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger by F W Holler, Solingen, interesting 2nd pattern Luftwaffe dagger with orange celluloid grip which retains thin wire binding. Pommel with swastika to both sides and cross guard in the form of Luftwaffe eagle in flight. Housed in the original scabbard which retains much of the original blued finish. The blade is etched with image of a Luftwaffe flak gun and ‘Gewidmet v. I / Flak R 25 2.1.1939’. The blade has makers trade mark to the reverse. Blade with some spotting. The blade measures 24 ¾ cms, overall 42 ½ cms. One very small chip to the grip near the ferrule but otherwise generally a good example.

US CIVIL WAR PERIOD UNION MILITA ARTILLEY TOP HAT, unusual, is made of a black beaver skin & stands 6′ tall with a 1 ¾’ brim, on front is a 3′ wide brass crossed cannons w/ its Regimental # ‘2’ attached, comes w/ an issue red cloth braded hat cord along w/ brass ordnance bomb on the side & a eagle ‘A’ (artillery) button on a red cloth rosette & a black feather, its 1 ½’ brown leather sweatband is damaged, inside embossed in gold is a US Army shield & its maker ‘F. Whiton / Boston 143 Hanover St.’, is very attractive & in overall great condition, VG++ – EXC.
