US CIVIL WAR PERIOD UNION FIELD-GRADE OFFICERS OF RHODE ISLAND FROCK COAT, a dark blue doeskin w/ a double row of 9 gilted brass Sate buttons (2 are loose), a 3 /4 length with an off green satin lining, has an inside pocket w/ inside adjustable belt, has bellowed sleeves as is correct for this period & ea. cuff has 3 matching buttons, its collar is 1 ¼’ wide, its officer shoulder straps are 1 ¾’ wide X 4′, these are finely made of a gold & silver bullion, the center is a medium blue satin, is complete w/ its 4 matching buttons on its tails, at 1 point this was set-up to use epaulets (1 hook device is loose), a very clean & attractive coat, LOW EXC.

Miniature Luftwaffe Officers Sword by Alcoso, Solingen, fine example of a miniature salesman sample Luftwaffe officers sword with sun dial swastika to the centre of the pommel and centre of the cross guard. Blue leather covered grip with wire binding and blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver fittings. Polished double edged blade with makers trademark to the base. The blade measures 16 ¾ cms, overall 26 ½ cms.

US CIVIL WAR PERIOD UNION MILITIA FROCK COAT, M-1851, is a dark blue wool w/ an 8-button (brass eagle) front, the 1 3/4′ collar & cuffs are trimmed in white cording, faded from blue, this is shorter style frock w/ a partial white wool lining on top & a partial black polished cotton bottom, the wool has a few stamps I can’t make out, rear has 2 black painted iron belt ramps, overall VG+ – EXC.

Covers service on Western Front and then Italy, May 1916 – December 1917.

WW2 German Luftwaffe Officers Sword by David Malsch, Steinbach, nickel silver mounted officers sword with large pommel having mobile swastikas and cross guard with mobile swastikas. Blue leather covered grip with wire binding. Housed in the blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver mounts. Double edged straight blade with very feint makers trademark to the reverse, which is common with this manufacturer. Also with acceptance stamp above the makers trademark. The blade tip slightly rounded. Blade 72cms, overall 92 ¼ cms. Scabbard runners missing, some dents to exterior fittings and wear.

Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal to a Stoker who was Discharged Following the Traumatic Amputation of 4 Fingers on his Left Hand, Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct medal, GV, 2nd type, ‘K31741 J.C. FRENCH L.STO. H.M.S. PEMBROKE’. ohn Charles French was born in Maidstone, Kent on 3rd November 1897 and joined the Royal Navy on 22nd March 1916 as a Stoker 2nd Class. He was awarded a British War medal and Victory medal for his war service with his long service medal being confirmed on 24th April 1931. He was invalided to shore on 1st May 1935 following an accident on H.M.S. Medway on 21st September 1934 which resulted in the traumatic amputation of 4 fingers of his left hand. John French died in Maidstone on 27th June 1963.

US CIVIL WAR PERIOD UNION INFANTRY OFFICERS FROCK COAT, RANK OF CAPTIAN, made of a black doeskin, ¾’ length, has a 9-button front (gilted eagle style), this may have been re-purposed as the button spacing is in groups of 3 as done for the RANK OF GENERAL, has a brown muslin like lining having 1 inside pocket, has a 1 ¼’ collar, its gold bullion shoulder straps are just under 1 & ½’ x 4′ & have a blue satin center (the bullion has a fair amount of damage), has its matching cuff buttons & 2 rear tail buttons, has some wear spots & some mothing, overall G+ – G++
