Private William Gallacher, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, later from Montreal, Canada. Killed serving with the 6th Company Canadian Machine Gun Corps on 7th November 1917.

#100 – WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Straps and Knot by Robert Klaas, Solingen (Лот: 7289)
WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Straps and Knot by Robert Klaas, Solingen, good example with white celluloid grip retaining the original wire binding. Pommel with swastika to both sides and cross guard in the form of a eagle in flight. Attached to the grip is the original officers dress knot (portepee). Housed in the original metal scabbard with two hanging rings. Attached to the scabbard is a pair of brocade hanging straps with the original clip fittings. Double edged plain blade with Robert Klaas, Solingen makers trade mark to the base. Some light wear to the blade, one screw missing from scabbard and some stitching faults to the straps but otherwise a good example. Blade 24 ¾ cms, overall 42 ½ cms.

Great War Memorial Plaque 1/4th Hampshire Regiment 1917 Casualty, bronze plaque named to ‘TOM HENRY BESSANT’, plaque in circular wooden frame. 204105 Private Tom Henry Bessant served with 1/4th Hampshire Regiment and died on 24th February 1917 aged 21. He is commemorated on the Basra Memorial.

Some dating from the WW1 period and others earlier and later. Well executed. All housed in a period ‘For Pen and Pencil Jottings’ album.

#101 – Scarce WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Double Etched Blade by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen (Лот: 7290)
Scarce WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Double Etched Blade by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, fine example of a standard 2nd model dress dagger with white celluloid grip retaining the wire binding. Pommel with swastika to both sides and cross guard in the form of a eagle in flight. Attached to the grip is the original officers full dress portepee / knot. Housed in the original scabbard with two bands and hanging rings which the pair of deluxe pattern brocade hanging straps are attached too. The blade is double etched with foliage and droop tail Luftwaffe eagle to the front and the reverse side has foliage and ‘Jagdgeschwader 5 Eismeerjäger’. Oval Carl Eickhorn makers trade mark to the base. Some light areas of pitting to the blade but generally a good condition example. Blade 24 ¾ cms, overall 43 ½ cms.

Great War Memorial Plaque and Scroll to the 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment, bronze memorial plaque awarded to ‘MAURICE RICHARDSON’ with Memorial Scroll, ‘PTE. MAURICE RICHARDSON, HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT’, both items mounted one above the other in a single period wooden frame, the scroll glazed. 20362 Private Maurice Richardson from Winchester served in the 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment and was killed in action on 3rd September 1916 and now rests in an identified grave in Hamel Military Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel. Also appears in records as Edward Maurice Richardson and on Commonwealth War Graves Commission as W.M. Richardson.
