Many good images of observation balloons, troops in uniform, local scenes, etc. All housed in a period photograph album with gilt tooled emblems to the cover. Approx 150 photographs in the album.

Miniature Third Reich DLV / Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Dress Dagger, well made miniature dagger with nickel silver mounts. Blued grip with artificial wire. Sun dial swastikas to the pommel and cross guard. Housed in the original blue leather covered scabbard and the mounts have the DLV type dome coverings to the staples as found on DLV daggers. Polished blade measuring 15 ½ cms, overall 23 ½ cms.

A Great War Territorial Long Service Medal Group of Four to the Royal Army Medical Corps, 1914-15 Star medal, British War and Victory medals, ‘2256 PTE. T. KITCHENHAM R.A.M.C.’, Territorial Efficiency medal, GV, ‘7339072 PTE. T. KITCHENHAM R.A.M.C.’. homas Kitchenham was born in Maidstone on 14th February 1890, in December 1896 he and 2 siblings were admitted into the Medway Poor Law Union. He served in France with the Royal Army Medical Corps from 17th December 1914 and was discharged unfit for further service on 14th April 1919 and issued with a Silver War Badge. The change of service number is confirmed on his medal index card. The Territorial Efficiency medal was confirmed in Army Order 435 of 1925. Post war he lived in Halling, Strood, Kent and he died Maidstone in July 1952.

Honourable Discharge in original transmission tube. Book: ‘The War History of the Sixth Battalion The South Staffordshire Regiment’ in well used condition. Photograph of Pte Doughty, post cards, cased shooting medallion etc. Also his three very detailed, small pocket diaries from August 1914 to February 1919, almost constantly at the Front from early 1915 to 1917, wounded on the first day of The Somme. Excellent daily descriptions throughout the war in small, legible writing; a full 11 page typed transcription is included. endor acquired from the family of George Doughty.

US CIVIL WAR PERIOD UNION CHAUSSER CAP, INFANTRY OFFICER, a blue doeskin, rear is 4 1/4′ tall & front is 2 ¾’ tall & its top diameter is 5′, has 3 gold bullion lower strips, 3 on ea. side & and matching quatrefoil on top which indicates RANK OF MAJOR, embroidered on front is a heavy gold bullion bugle w/ the the unit # ’28’ all on a 2 ¼’ black doeskin oval, a black patent leather visor extends 1 ½’ w/ a matching chin-strap w/ Infantry eagle side buttons, has a brown muslin lining w/ a 1 ¼’ brown leather sweatband (has 1 break), a few bad moth holes but overall very nice, VG++

GESCH’, made of solid silver, both are exc.

German Unit Marked Luftwaffe 1st Pattern Officers Dress Dagger by SMF, Solingen, good example with nickel silver fittings. Pommel with mobile swastika to both sides, cross guard also with mobile swastikas to the centre. Blue leather covered grip with the original wire binding. Underside of the cross guard is unit engraved ‘Fl Gr (ZA) Rotenburg’. Officers bullion wire portepee attached to the grip. Housed in the original blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver fittings. Complete with the original hanging chains with clip fitting. Double edged blade with SMF Solingen makers trade mark to the base and Luftwaffe acceptance stamp. Remains in very good overall condition. Blade 30 ¾ cms, overall 48 ½ cms.

#96 – A 1917 Royal Flying Corps Killed in Action Medal Pair (Лот: 8688)
A 1917 Royal Flying Corps Killed in Action Medal Pair, British War and Victory medals, ‘44354 PTE A.E. WINSTONE R.F.C.’, with a Royal Flying Corps cap badge, a hand carved Perspex cross and a uniform photograph. lfred Edwin Winstone was born in Walthamstow, Essex on 1st November 1897. His family later moved to Oxford residing at 68 Southmoor Road, Oxford. Alfred was employed in the Secretary’s room at Oxford University Press when he enlisted in August 1916. He was sent to France in February 1917 serving as an Air Mechanic 2nd Class with 6 Squadron but appears to have been attached to 18th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. He was killed in action aged 19 on 20th August 1917 and he now rests in an identified grave in Voormezeele Enclosures No1 and No2, Belgium. He is also commemorated on the Oxford University Press memorial and the Oxford Central Boy’s School memorial.

Rare North Whippingham (Isle of Wight) Volunteers Other Ranks Shoulder Belt Plate Circa 1799, rare other ranks brass oval shoulder belt plate with crowned GR cipher and around ‘NORTH WHIPPINGHAM VOLUNTEERS’. Reverse with two studs and hook fixing. Generally good condition. Late Rod Flood collection.

US CIVIL WAR PERIOD KEPI, WITH CONFEDERATE ID TO A ‘L. D. HUGES’ OF THE 19TH VA, a gray wool w/ a 4′ tall rear & a 2 ½’ tall front & its top diameter is 4 ½’, a black patent leather visor which extends 1 ¾’ w/ a matching chin-strap & brass leaf design side-buttons, a brown muslin lining w/ a 1 ¾’ sweatband, inside is makers label ‘Main To Market St. Deppens Arcade Clothing and Hats 6th & 7th St. Louisville’ etc., on the underside of the visor on a paper label in brown ink is the owners name, he served in Company G, mounted on front of its chin are is brass Regiment numbers ’19’, this is dirty and has a a lot of rear damage but the front and side displays well, G. – G+
