WW2 German Army Enlisted Ranks Sword with Personalisation by Alcoso, Solingen, standard enlisted ranks sword with steel dove head mounts, black celluloid grip with wire binding. Attached to the grip is an enlisted ranks knot / portepee. Housed in the original black scabbard. Polished curved blade with makers trademark to the base under the langet. The blade has a crude period engraving in memory of the original owner service with 2./Kav Regt 13 1938-1940. Inscription in the same style to the reverse of the blade also. Inscription not easy to read. Blade 82 cms, overall 96cms.

MARCHANT M.M.P.’, Meritorious Service medal, GV, 1st type, ‘P618 PTE-A L.CPL. C.W. MARCHANT M.F.P.’ eritorious Service medal, London Gazette 3rd June 1919 (Peace Gazette) – P/618 Pte. (A./L./C.) Marchant, C. W. (Waltham Abbey). harles William Marchant served with the Military Mounted Police in France between 3rd September 1915 and 30th October 1915 when he then moved to the Egyptian theatre serving there from 1st November 1915 until 31st December 1917. The index card for his Meritorious Service medal indicates the medal was awarded for home service.

Scarce WW2 German Army Cavalry Regiment No14 Enlisted Ranks Etched Sword by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, good example of a cavalry enlisted ranks / NCO’s sword with plated steel mounts, celluloid grip with wire binding, small crack to the celluloid. Attached to the grip is a other ranks pattern portepee. Curved blade etched with pattern and blued panel having regimental details, reverse of the blade etched with scenes of cavalry troops on horsebacks and army eagles to both sides. Carl Eickhorn makers trademark. Blade 76cms, overall 89 ½ cms. Blade with some surface staining / pitting. No scabbard. Actual WW2 / Third Reich period etched sword blades are much harder to find than those of the Imperial German army.

Great War November 1916 Casualty 1914-15 Star Medal Trio and Memorial Plaque to the 1/5th (Cinque Ports) Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment, 1914-15 Star medal, ‘5-2348 L-CPL E.W. MARTIN R. SUS6: R’, British War and Victory medals, ‘2348 CPL E.W. MARTIN R. SUSS. R.’, with Bronze Memorial Plaque ‘ERNEST WILLIAM MARTIN’. Note spelling of Regiment on star, sold with research and colour photographs of grave. rnest Wiliam Martin lived in the village of Burwash in East Sussex and enlisted in Hastings. He served in France from 18th December 1915 and died on 14th November 1916 serving in ‘B’ Company. 24-year-old Ernest Martin now rests in Martinpuich British Cemetery, France as well as being remembered on the Burwash War Memorial and on a plaque in St Bartholomew’s Church, Burwash.

Victorian 4th Administrative Battalion (3rd Lymington) Hampshire Rifle Volunteers NCO’s Glengarry Badge, blackened Victorian crowned oval strap with regimental details within and the centre with white metal number ‘3’ above Hampshire rose and scroll ‘HANTS’. Two lug fittings to the reverse. Late Rod Flood collection.

Third Reich DLV / NSFK Flyers Knife Dagger by SMF, Solingen, good example with nickel silver fittings, retaining the blue leather covering to the grip and to the scabbard. Black enamel to the centre swastikas on the cross guard. The ends of the cross guard are stamped with a ‘K’ and a another stamp which is not clear. Attached to the scabbard is the short brown leather hanging strap, metal clip spring gone. Scabbard throat is stamped with the acceptance stamps for both the DLV and NSFK. Double edged blade with makers trademark to the reverse. Some wear to the blade but generally a good example. Blade 17 ½ cms, overall 33 ½ cms.
