Victorian Boer War Campaign Medal Pair to the Royal Army Medical Corps, Queens South Africa medal with single clasp loose on ribbon, Cape Colony, impressed naming, ‘12467 PTE. P BOURNE R.A.M.C.’, Kings South Africa medals with 2 clasps, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902, ‘12467 PTE. P BOURNE R.A.M.C.’. Both medals and clasps confirmed on the relevant rolls. ercival Bourne from St Pancras, London attested for service in the Royal Army Medical Corps on 11th July 1899 aged 18 years and 1 month. He served in South Africa from January 1900 until June 1903 serving with No.2, No.5 and No.14 General Hospitals. He transferred to the reserve on 24th June 1903 and was finally discharged on 10th July 1911. Recalled for service during the Great War he served with the 13th Battalion London Regiment and 5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment with whom he was wounded in November 1918 (GSW to the back).

A Korean War Pair of Medals to a Royal Navy Officer who was Present on the Destroyer HMS Comus when she was Attacked and Damaged by Enemy Aircraft in August 1950, Queens Korea Medal, ‘LIEUT. D.N. DALTON R.N.’, United Nations Korea Medal, unnamed as issued, medals mounted as worn.’on 23 August 1950 H.M.S. Comus was attacked by two Ilyushin II-10 bombers 85 miles west of Kunsan. The ‘Sturmoviks’ attacked singly from astern. The first dropped four bombs that holed the ship on the port side, killing one sailor and wounding another. The second dropped its load ahead of the ship and missed completely. The Comus immediately made for Kure for repairs, escorted by her sister, H.M.S. Consort, and covered by U.S. carrier fighters.’David Norman Dalton was appointed Midshipman on 1st January 1947, promoted to Sub Lieutenant on 1st May 1948, Lieutenant on 1st March 1951 and promoted to Lieutenant Commander on 1st March 1959 he retired in 1969.

#62 – Third Reich NPEA Students Dress Dagger by Karl Burgsmuller (Лот: 7251)
Third Reich NPEA Students Dress Dagger by Karl Burgsmuller, example with brown wooden grip without emblems, plated handle mount fittings, the lower guard being stamped to the reverse ‘P391’ and obverse is engraved ‘NPEA Neuzelle Winter 1939/40’. Housed in metal scabbard with much of the olive green paint finish remaining, brass non magnetic ball tip and brass frog stud. Attached to the scabbard is a brown leather frog, but not an original NPEA type. Double edged blade with motto ‘Mehr sein als scheinen’, reverse of the blade with trademark for Karl Burgsmuller Berlin-Charlottenburg 5. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37 ¼ cms. We are of the opinion that this dagger is made up of original and later produced parts and is being sold as such. Ideal for a collector as a space filler.

TILLING R.A.M.C.’, Kings South Africa medal with 2 clasps, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902, ‘10310 PTE. H.R. TILLING R.A.M.C.’ enry Robert Tiling was a 23-year-old Watchmaker from Islington when he attested for the Medical Staff Corps on 5th March 1894. He served for 12 years before being discharged on 4th March 1906. He served in South Africa from 1st November 1899 until 21st May 1902 and again from 5th June 1902 until 16th December 1902. Both medals and all clasps are confirmed on the relevant rolls.
