Edwardian Royal Navy Long Service Medal to the Coastguard Service with a Shooting Competition Trophy in the form of an Engraved Silver Beaker, Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct medal, EVII, impressed naming, ‘124755 H.M. TAYLOR, COM. BTMN H.M. COASTGUARD’, with hall marked (Chester, 1909) engraved silver beaker. Beaker professionally engraved with the following details, ‘H.M. COASTGUARDS v ALL COMERS, BEXHILL, SIX A SIDE, 300.500.600 YARDS, WON BY, H.M. TAYLOR, AT ECCLESBOURNE RANGES, FEB 22ND 1908’.enry Mark Tayor was born in Deptford, Kent on 6th January 1868. He entered the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on H.M.S. Impregnable on 9th October 1883. He transferred to the Coastguard service on 24th March 1897 being stationed at various locations on the south coast with Bexhill being his last station from 4th February 1905 until 30th June 1909 when he was pensioned off. His Long Service medal was confirmed on 16th February 1909.aylor was recalled for service on 2nd August 1914, he only served at home earning a British War medal for his Great War service. He was finally demobilised on 28th May 1919.

Victorian 36th (Herefordshire) Regiment of Foot Shoulder Belt Plate 1840-55, good example of a dulled brass rectangular belt plate with star and gilt metal crowned laurel spray with battle honours, centre with domed ’36’ over ‘FIRM’ and bottom with battle honours ‘HINDOOSTAN’ and ‘ORTHES’. Reverse with two studs and hook fixings. Some wear but generally a good example.
