Promoted to Lieutenant with seniority 1st May 1963 (London Gazette 8th February 1963) and was placed on the retire list at his own request on 19th June 1969 (London Gazette 1st July 1969).

WW2 German Army Officers Miniature Dress Dagger by Alcoso, Solingen, fine example of a three quarter size miniature dress dagger of the German army with orange celluloid grip, pommel and eagle cross guard. Housed in the original scabbard with two hanging ring bands and one hanging ring. Double edged polished blade with makers trademark to the reverse. Obverse of the blade etched with retailers details ‘HERMANN THIES LÜNEBURG’. Blade 14 ¾ cms, overall 24cms.

A Kings South Africa Medal to a Serjeant Who Served with the Royal Army Medical Corps in the Guards Brigade Bearer Company, medal with 2 clasps, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902, ‘9875 SERJT: A. BURROWS R.A.M.C.’ lbert Burrows attested for service on 31st October 1890 and served for 21 years before his discharge on 30th October 1911. During this time, he served for 4 years and 3 months in Egypt and 3 years and 3 months in South Africa. This medal and both clasps are confirmed on the roll and he is also entitled to the Queens medal with 6 clasps (Guards Brigade Bearer Company medal roll) and an Army Long Service and Good Conduct medal (Army Order 101/1909).

Medals display mounted in a frame with the issue letter for the Kuwait medal.

No. 4′, its brown leather band is just under 1 ¾’ wide, minor mothing, rates VG+ – VG++

Kings South Africa Medal to a Recipient in the Royal Army Medical Corps who Died of Illness in 1909 While Still Serving the Colours, medal with clasps South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902, ‘12725 PTE. M. HAYES R.A.M.C.’ Michael Hayes from St Michael, Limerick attested for the Royal Army Medical Corps in Limerick on 10th November 1899. He is also entitled to a 2 clasp Queens South Africa medal, and he died of illness 30th October 1909 whilst still serving.
