HOLLIDAY R.A.M.C.’, India General Service medal with clasp Afghanistan N.W.F.1919 ‘84022 A.CPL F. HOLLIDAY R.A.M.C.’ Fred Holliday from Rawcliffe, Yorkshire was discharged to class Z Army Reserve on 27th November 1919. Also entitled to a Victory medal.

Third Reich Transitional SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger by Robert Klaas, Solingen, good example of a transitional pattern RZM dress dagger with grip having aluminium eagle and enamel SS runes. Typical RZM plated fittings to the grip mounts and the scabbard mounts. Double edged blade with motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’, reverse with Robert Klass trademark and RZM ‘M7/37 RZM 1051/39’ and SS runes. Couple of nicks to the edge of the blade. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37 cms. Some wear to the exterior fittings which is typical of RZM pieces. The transitional SS daggers are much harder to find than those of the SA.

H.J. PRINCE R.A.M.C.’, edge knock to medal in 7 o’clock position.Medal and all 3 clasps confirmed on the medal roll for the Royal Army Medical Corps Militia.

Victorian 72nd (Duke of Albany’s Own) Highlanders Officers Shoulder Belt Plate 1830-1855, fine rectangular die stamped silvered plate with raised design, crowned thistle wreath with ’72’ to centre and title scroll above, below with ‘OWN HIGHLANDERS’. Reverse with two hooks and stud fittings, also an old leather backing cover. Some evidence of cleaning to the front of the plate.

US Civil War Era Home Made Cavalry Sword, no scabbard, may have been Union used, Confederate used or ?, this does have an 1860 style cavalry sword blade w/ an unstopped fuller favoured by the Confederate States, 36′ long, the grip is a smooth iron that has been gilded & has a 3 branch brass guard stamped ‘01530’, the blade is in poor condition, interesting.

Great War Medals to the East and West Kent Regiments, Victory Medal, ‘GS-8012 PTE J.F. COLLINS R.W. KENT R.’ and British War and Victory Medals, ‘6115 PTE. G. SIMONS E. KENT R.’James Frederick Collins from Catford London, attested for the 11th (Lewisham) Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment on 18th May 1915. He served overseas with the 1st Battalion, his service record shows that he was blown up and buried for a considerable time on 3rd October 1917 but he recovered and we eventually discharged to Class Z Army Reserve.G Simons served with the 1/5th Battalion East Kent Regiment in the Asiatic theatre of from 3rd October 1916 and later served with the Military Foot Police (#P12749). Simons was also awarded the Territorial Force War Medal named to Royal West Kent Regiment (#1509).

STONE TANK CORPS’, Larmy Long Service and Good Conduct medal, GV 1st type, ‘7871965 W.O. CLII S. STONE TANK CORPS’. Sidney Stone served in the 2nd and 6th Armoured Car Companies of the Tank Corps having previously earnt a 1914 Star trio with the Royal West Kent Regiment during the Great War. His Long service medal was announced in Army Order October 1922. The change of service number is confirmed on his medal index card.

Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger by Ernst Pack & Sohne RZM 1211/39, typical later type RZM period dress dagger with ebony grip having eagle and enamel SS rune insignia. Plating lifting and bubbling to the upper and lower mounts. Housed in its original scabbard. Double edged blade with motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and reverse with RZM logo and ‘1211/39’ and SS runes. The blade 22cms, overall 37 ½ cms. The blade remains in very good overall condition, the exterior shows wear.

JACK R.E.’, some minor edge knocks.James Jack is confirmed on the roll of the 5th Field Company, Royal engineers and is entitled to the Queens medal with these 3 clasps. Also served during the Great War being awarded a 1914-15 Star trio.

Good overall condition. 71st Highlanders later became 1st Battalion Highland Light Infantry on 1st July 1881.
