#60 – Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Enlisted Ranks Sword by Ernst Pack & Söhne, Solingen (Лот: 7249)
Ставки принимаются через менеджераThird Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Enlisted Ranks Sword by Ernst Pack & Söhne, Solingen, being an army pattern enlisted ranks dove head type sword with SS runes cut into the langet and blackened. Steel fittings with grip having wire binding. Reverse of the langet stamped ‘S.D. 281’. Housed in the blackened curved scabbard. Curved polished blade which is etched with the SS motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and makers trademark to the base. Blade 83 ½ cms, overall 98cms. Well worn exterior and staining / rusting to the blade. Various designs and styles of these swords were produced in the early stages of the Schutzstaffel before the introduction of the standard SS sword degen. Ставки принимаются через менеджераVictorian Boer War Campaign Medal Pair to a Recipient Who Served for 21 Years in the Royal Army Medical Corps Before Being Commissioned in 1917, Queens South Africa medal with clasp Cape Colony, impressed naming, ‘11024 L.CPL. W. CATHERALL R.A.M.C.’, Kings South Africa medal with 2 clasps, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902, ‘11024 CORPL: W CATHERALL R.A.M.C.’, with contact marks to the obverse from wearing. allace Catherall from Dorking in Surrey attested for the Medical Staff Corps on 6th March 1896. He spent 2 years and 259 days in South Africa serving with No.1 General Hospital. Both medals with these clasps are confirmed on the relevant rolls. He continued serving through into the Great War and landed in France on 14th August 1914 qualifying for a 1914 Star trio. In November the same year he was awarded his Army Long Service and Good Conduct medal. He was commissioned as Lieutenant & Quarter Master in the Royal Army Medical Corps on 14th April 1917, having served 21 years and 40 days in the Ranks.

The centre set with facetted glass foiled citrine. Large double pin fixing and catches to reverse. Very fine example.

Reverse of the langet stamped ‘S.D. 111’. Housed in the blackened curved scabbard. Curved polished blade which is etched with the SS motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and with Carl Eickhorn makers trademark to the base. Blade 83 cms, overall 98cms. Remains in good overall condition. Various designs and styles of these swords were produced in the early stages of the Schutzstaffel before the introduction of the standard SS sword degen. P BOURNE R.A.M.C.’, Kings South Africa medals with 2 clasps, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902, ‘12467 PTE. P BOURNE R.A.M.C.’. Both medals and clasps confirmed on the relevant rolls. ercival Bourne from St Pancras, London attested for service in the Royal Army Medical Corps on 11th July 1899 aged 18 years and 1 month. He served in South Africa from January 1900 until June 1903 serving with No.2, No.5 and No.14 General Hospitals. He transferred to the reserve on 24th June 1903 and was finally discharged on 10th July 1911. Recalled for service during the Great War he served with the 13th Battalion London Regiment and 5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment with whom he was wounded in November 1918 (GSW to the back).

Ставки принимаются через менеджераThird Reich NPEA Students Dress Dagger by Karl Burgsmuller, example with brown wooden grip without emblems, plated handle mount fittings, the lower guard being stamped to the reverse ‘P391’ and obverse is engraved ‘NPEA Neuzelle Winter 1939/40’. Housed in metal scabbard with much of the olive green paint finish remaining, brass non magnetic ball tip and brass frog stud. Attached to the scabbard is a brown leather frog, but not an original NPEA type. Double edged blade with motto ‘Mehr sein als scheinen’, reverse of the blade with trademark for Karl Burgsmuller Berlin-Charlottenburg 5. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37 ¼ cms. We are of the opinion that this dagger is made up of original and later produced parts and is being sold as such. Ideal for a collector as a space filler.
