#39 – Rare Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger with Full Ernst Röhm Dedication by Rich Abr Herder, Solingen (Лот: 7228)
Rare Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger with Full Ernst Röhm Dedication by Rich Abr Herder, Solingen, good example of an enlisted mans dress dagger with ebony grip, nickel silver eagle and enamel SS runes emblem (some enamel loss). The lower cross guard mount is stamped with district mark ‘III’ and SS membership number ‘1190’. Housed in the original scabbard with a black leather SS vertical hanger attached. The scabbard throat is also stamped with the SS service number ‘1190’. Very good condition double edged blade with motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and the reverse with the makers trademark and the extremely rare full length Ernst Röhm dedication, ‘In herzlicher Kameradschaft Ernst Röhm’ (In heartfelt comradeship Ernst Röhm). The blade measures 22cms, overall 38cms. The exterior shows some wear but the blade is generally good condition and the inscription is fully visible. The honour dagger of Ernst Röhm was instituted in 1934 and was issued to SS members who had served before December 1931 and had continued service until this date. After the night of the long knives an order was given to remove this dedication from the blade so to find complete examples are extremely rare. It is believed that only 9,900 Röhm dedications were produced on SS daggers compared to 125,960 SA daggers.
