Victorian Campaign Medal Pair for Service in India with the 3rd Battalion Rifle Brigade, India General Service medal 1854-95 with clasp North West Frontier, impressed naming, ‘397 PTE F. GREENER. 3RD BN RIF. BDE’, some contact marks to medal, Indian Mutiny medal with clasp Lucknow, impressed naming, ‘FRANS. GREENES. 3RD BN RIFLE BDE’, note spelling difference. The pair of medals fitted onto an attractive double size white medal ribbon bar. Francis Greener is confirmed on the roll for the IGS with North West frontier clasp, he is also confirmed on the Mutiny medal roll for the 3rd Battalion Rifle Brigade which also confirms he was present in the operations against Lucknow between the 2nd and 16th March 1858. He is noted on the IGS roll as being discharged on 3rd July 1865.

SA EM / NCO KEPI, tan cotton body w/blue wool top indicating Hochland, has silver painted eagle & nickel silver button, brown leather strap, oilcloth lining has size stamp ’55’, its brown oilcloth band is heavily damaged, w/ RZM label, other then inner band its a nice example, VG.

#3 – Superb Imperial German Model 1889 Gilt and Damascus Sword by WKC (Лот: 7192)
Superb Imperial German Model 1889 Gilt and Damascus Sword by WKC, fine example of a model 1898 sword with folding guard having Prussian eagle, knuckle bow with chased relief, pommel with initials to the top of the original owner and partial backstrap with relief of face. Shagreen grip with wire binding and monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II and underneath silvered Imperial eagle. Housed in blackened scabbard with single hanging ring. Near mint condition rose pattern Damascus blade with gilt panels to the obverse and reverse of the sword. The obverse with inscription ‘Bis zum letzen Tropfen Blut burchtlos tapfer treu und gut’ which translates to ‘Fearless, brave, loyal and good until the last drop of blood’. Reverse just with foliage pattern. Early WKC makers trademark to the base. Blade 72cms, overall 91 ½ cms. Superb example.

Royal Bristol Volunteers Medal 1814, white metal, 56mm x 37mm, the obverse with ship and Bristol Castle central and VIRTUTE ET INDUSTRIA and ROYAL BRISTOL VOLUNTEERS in surround with the motto IN DANGER READY in a scroll below; the reverse embossed, IMBODIED FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC ORDER & PROTECTION OF THEIR FELLOW CITIZENS ON THE THREAT OF INVASION BY FRANCE MDCCXCVII. REVIVED AT THE RENEWAL OF HOSTILITIES MDCCCIII. DISBANDED WHEN THE DELIVERANCE OF EUROPE WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY THE PERSEVERANCE & MAGNANIMITY OF GREAT BRITAIN AND HER ALLIES MDCCCXIV, with the text PRO PATRIA in a scroll below. he Royal Bristol Volunteer Regiment was raised in 1797 and disbanded in 1814.

He was discharged on 29th June 1880 having completed 12 years and 278 days service.

Imperial German Model 1889 Blue Gilt and Damascus Presentation Sword for the War Academy Fusilier Artillery Regiment Nr3, superb quality example of a model 1898 sword with fine quality heavy relief in form of Prussian eagle to the hilt, knuckle guard with heavy relief of oakleaves, top pommel with oakleaves relief, top pommel engraved with initials ‘H Z’. Horn grip with wire binding and monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II to the centre. Housed in steel parade scabbard with single brass band and single hanging ring. Fine blade with Damascus and blue gilt panels to both sides of the blade, etched with foliage pattern and presentation inscription ‘Ehrenpreis für hervorragende Leistungen auf der Kriegsakademie Fus Art. Reg. 3’, reverse with foliage pattern to the blue gilt panel. Edge also etched with blue gilt foliage pattern and ‘PAUL A HENCKELS, SOLINGEN’. The blade measures 78cms, overall 96cms. A superb example of a presentation model 1898 sword.
