HETHERINGTON SEA HIGHRS’, British War and Victory medals ‘MAJOR F.H. HETHERINGTON’. Generally good condition. Military Cross, London Gazette 1st January 1918 – Awarded the Military Cross – T./Lt (A /Capt) Francis Herbert Hetherington, Sea Highrs. Also served in the Royal Engineers and applied for his medals in December 1925 from Monteal, Canada, returning to the UK in May 1933.

Ставки принимаются через менеджераThird Reich NSKK Dress Dagger Attributed to SS-Obergruppenführer Hermann Höfle, Who Played a Vital Role in Suppressing the Slovak National Uprising, Later Being Trialled and Sentenced to Death for War Crimes, this dagger being an enlisted mans type with a light brown wood grip, having nickel plated eagle and enamel SA device. Both the upper and lower cross guard mounts have been beautifully hand chassed with an leaf pattern. The dagger is housed in its original scabbard, where once again the mounts have been hand chased. The reverse of the top scabbard mount is engraved in gothic lettering, ‘Hermann Höfle nskk-mün. 17.aug.1934’. Standard blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and the reverse with the makers trademark for J P Sauer & Sohn, Sühl. The blade shows some wear with staining and oil marks. The blade 21 ¾ cms, overall 38cms. Hermann Höfle was born on 12th September 1898. The son of a postal official, he enlisted in the Bavarian army in 1916, serving with Infantry regiment Nr8. He transferred to the Imperial German Air Service later in the war, where he served as an Observer. After WW1, Höfle served in the Freikorps and later with Ernst Rohm, was present at the Beer Hall Putsch. He officially joined the SA (Sturmabteilung) in the 1930’s. From 1934-1937, he was part of the NSKK in Munich, rising through the ranks of the NSKK through to 1943. At the request of Heinrich Himmler, Höfle left the NSKK and joined the SS (Schutzstaffel) where he became a SS-Obergruppenführer in an administration role. He was serving in Slovakia and was a pivotal player in the suppression of the Slovak National Uprising in 1944. He was arrested by the Czechoslovakian authorities after the war and was put on trial along with Hanns Ludin and both were sentenced to death and executed on 9th December 1947, it is believed however that he may have died in custody earlier than this date.

H. HALSEY R.A.M.C.’ arry Halsey was a 19 year old college servant from Oxford when he attested for service in the Royal Army Medical Corps on 29th August 1900. He had 2 periods of service, totalling 193 days, in South Africa before he was invalided home in June 1902 due to the effects of rheumatic fever. He transferred to the reserve on 3rd September 1903 and was mobilised for service on 6th August 1914, he was discharged 13 days later as being no longer physically fit for service. In 1931 he applied for an Army pension stating that he served through the whole of the Great War initially as #8275 Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and then as #292578 Royal Garrison Artillery. 8275 Henry Halsey was discharged from the 2nd OBLI due to sickness on 31st May 1915 having earnt a 1914-15 trio and a Silver War Badge, 292578 Henry Halsey was discharged from the R.G.A. due to sickness on 19th December 1918 being awarded a pair of medals and another Silver War Badge! In 1939 he is listed as a General Clerk in an engineering firm and was also an Air Raid Warden. Henry Halsey died in Oxford in the last quarter of 1956.

Distinguished Conduct medal, London Gazette 17th April 1917 – G/3396 L./,Sjt. G. Rowe, Midd’x R. – ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He took command of his company, led them to their objective, and continued in command until relieved by an officer two days later. He has previously done fine work.’ George Rowe was from Shadwell, London and he served in France from 25th July 1915. He was discharged unfit for further service due to wounds on 12th November 1918 and was issued with a Silver War Badge. 15 Distinguished Conduct medals were awarded to the 12th Duke of Cabridge’s Own (Middlesex) Regiment during the Great War.

The fittings have a gilt / copper wash finish. Cross guard with district stamp to the reverse ‘Na’. Housed in its original scabbard with blackened centre and gilt copper wash fittings. Double edged blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trademark to the reverse featuring a anchor for Albert Dörschel, Solingen. The blade 22cms, overall 37 ½ cms.

POLLARD R.A.M.C.’ ohn Pollard was a 39-year-old Chemist, originally from Waterford, Ireland he was living in Forest Gate, London when he attested for service on 10th March 1902. He served for a total of 1 year and 129 days of which he spent 96 days in South Africa. He is confirmed on the roll for the Cape Colony clasp and the South Africa 1902 clasp.

Established by Tsar Alexander II on 26th August 1856, approximately 1.7 million medals were produced in both grades. The light coloured medal was issued to non-combatants with the dark variant being issued to combatants. There were 4 ribbons issued with the medal depending on the type of service that was rendered.

WILLSON M.G.C.’, note different spelling of name.With original copy of mobilisation document to C T Millson dated 4th August 1914, folded, Soldiers Small Book to 6611 Charles T Millson, Northamptonshire Regiment, enlisted 30th June 1902 aged 18. Original illuminated copy of Army Order 262, 14th October 1918 listing the Military medal to Millson, folded with some damage along creases. Also includes 2 original photos, 1 of Private Millson, another of him with his family and 2 photos of the Wilward family.Military medal, London Gazette, 7th February 1919 – 12198 Pte. Millson, C. T., 47th Bn. (Gainsboro’)According to later family notes with this group the Military medal was awarded for saving the life of an Officer, Lieutenant Wilward.Charles Millson (or Willson depending on the record) is entitled to the Military medal and pair for his Great War service also serving with the Northamptonshire Regiment (No. 17670) and was discharged to Class Z Army Reserve on 13rh March 1919.

Ставки принимаются через менеджераRare Third Reich NSKK Marine Officers Chained Dress Dagger, super and rare example of a later type NSKK marine leaders (NSKK-Kraftbooteinheiten) dress dagger. Brown wooden grip with aluminium eagle and enamel SA device emblem to the grip. Exterior fittings and scabbard fittings with the later high copper content finish which gives the fittings a copper effect finish. Full length hanging chains with working clip fitting. Reverse of the chains are stamped with ‘MUSTERSCHUTZ NSKK-KORPSFUHRUNG’ and RZM M5/8. The blade is a standard type with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’. No makers trademark to the reverse. The blade has some staining and scuffs from the scabbard runners. The blade 22cms, overall 38cms. Some light scuffs to the scabbard and general patina to the exterior of the dagger but still a good example of a very rare dress dagger.
