Medals mounted for wear. Accompanied by bullion and embroidered Chindit formation signs, pair of printed regimental shoulder titles, 2x regimental pagri flashes, WW2 war economy bakelite cap badge and brass regimental cap badge.

#28 – Edwardian Royal Navy Long Service Medal to a Ships Steward (Лот: 5931)
Edwardian Royal Navy Long Service Medal to a Ships Steward, Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct medal, EVII, ‘T.W. SARGENT, SH. STEWD H.M.S. MILDURA’. Thomas William Sargent was born in Minster on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, on 3rd July 1871 and joined the Royal Navy as a Ships Steward Boy on 3rd December 1886. He qualified for his Long Service medal on 16th August 1904 and was discharged in July 1914. The outbreak of war the following month led to his mobilisation on 2nd August 1914 and was finally demobilised on 6th June 1921 having earnt a 1914-15 trio for his war service.

#28 – Queens South Africa Medal to the Royal Army Medical Corps (Лот: 8621)
Queens South Africa Medal to the Royal Army Medical Corps, medal with no clasp, awarded to ‘10356 PTE. E. GOODRIGHT R.A.M.C.’ rnest Goodright, an 18-year-old labourer from Kingston Surrey attested on 26th April 1894. He transferred to the Army Reserve on 26th April 1897 but was recalled to Army service under the terms of Special Army Order of 7th October 1899. He served in South Africa from 22nd October 1899 until 9th April 1903 when he transferred to the Reserve once again being finally discharged on 23rd April 1906. The medal rolls indicate he served in No. 6 Field Hospital, No. 11 Field Hospital and in the Field Hospital and Bearer Company of 25th Cavalry Brigade. He is entitled to the 6 clasps for this medal, , Driefontein, Paardeberg, Relief of Kimberley, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill and Wittebergen as well as the Kings medal with 2 clasps.

US CIVIL WAR LOT, includes a 9 ½’ tall silver plated tea pot, base is stamped ‘Booth & Hayden’ etc., probably used in an officers mess, a 9′ tall drinking flask, is made of heavy glass w/ steal bottom covering which you can drink from, top is leather covered, a pewter spout, & a brown leather belt w/ a brass interlocking snake buckle which was used by both sides during the War, VG – Exc.

Third Reich Transitional SA (Sturmabteilung) Dress Dagger by Klitermann & Moog, Haan Solingen, later type transitional RZM period SA dagger with wooden grip, nickel eagle and enamel SA device. Plated mounts, reverse of the lower cross guard stamped ‘H’. Housed in its original scabbard, centre being refinished. Double edged blade with the motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trademark and RZM logo with ‘M 7/29 – 1942’. Blade shows some wear and staining. Blade 22cms, overall 37 ½ cms. Two screws missing from scabbard fittings.

US CIVIL WAR-GETTYSBURG BATTFIELD RELIC DESK PIECE, nice example mostly likely done within 20 years of the end of the War, the base is made of a local hardwood 5′ x 1 ¾’ x 1 ¼’, mounted into it is a bronze cannon ball fuse, a period ink well, & a 2 ring Confederate Gardner bullet along w/ a 3 ring Union bullet (mini ball), on the side in old ink is ‘Little Round Top’, a nice display, VG+

A Pair of Great War Memorial Plaques to the Pendlebury Brothers from Astley, Manchester, 2 Bronze Memorial Plaques, awarded to ‘HARRY PENDLEBURY’ and ‘THOMAS PENDLEBURY’. 16226 Private Thomas Pendlebury, 6th South Lancashire Regiment who died of illness whilst at home on 28th December 1915. Thomas Pendlebury attested on 20th December 1914 and served for 55 days with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force before returning home on 19th September 1915. He is buried in Leigh Cemetery.30327 Private Harry Pendlebury, 4th Kings (Liverpool) Regiment who died of wounds on 19th April 1918 and is buried in Haringhe (Bandaghem) Military Cemetery, Belgium.Thomas Pendlebury is the older (by 1 year) brother of Harry, and both are the sons of Thomas and Sarah Pendlebury of 122 Higher Green, Astley, Manchester.

#30 – Rare Unit Marked 1st Pattern SA (Sturmabteilung) Marine Dagger by Malsch & Ambronn, Steinbach (Лот: 7219)
Rare Unit Marked 1st Pattern SA (Sturmabteilung) Marine Dagger by Malsch & Ambronn, Steinbach, being a good example with much of the original blackened finish to the grip, original eagle and enamel SA device. The lower cross guard and the top scabbard mount are stamped ‘Mar. Br. 4 E. SCHULZ 9099’. Blackened anodised scabbard which has an original three piece leather hanger. Good condition double edged blade with the motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ which retains much of the original blackened finish. Makers trademark to the reverse of the blade. Some light pitting but generally a good condition blade. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Overall this is a very good example of a rare and desirable 1st pattern marine SA dagger, the later patterns having the gilded fittings. A good WW2 Royal Naval Reserve Medal Group of 4 to a Petty Officer Who was Taken Prisoner of War After his Ship, the Armed Merchant Cruiser H.M.S Voltaire Was Sunk by the German Raider Thor, 1939-45 Star Medal, Atlantic Star Medal, War Medal 1939-45, Royal Naval Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, GVIR 1st type, ‘6996 C G.E. OGILVIE P.O. R.N.R.’The auxiliary cruiser HMS Voltaire was on route from Trinidad to Freetown when she encountered the German commerce raider ‘Thor’ about 700 miles W.S.W. of the Cape Verde Islands on 4th April 1941. Despite being slower and out gunned by her opponent, Voltaire put up a determined resistance finally being sunk 2 hours after the action started. 13 Officers and 62 Ratings were killed, the Captain, Captain Blackburn, 21 Officers and 173 Ratings were taken prisoners of war. Captain Kohler of Thor reported that half of the sailors rescued were wounded and such was the ferocity of the fight that Thor had fired 724 rounds, over half of her ammunition during the battle.Geroge Edward Ogilvie from Southampton enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve on 4th June 1925 and was serving on HMS Voltaire during this incident. He was one of the lucky survivors and was imprisoned in Camp 10B from 17th April 1941 until 19th July 1942 when he was transferred to Marlag and Milag Nord until his release on 28th April 1945. He was repatriated on 4th May 1945. His L.S.G.C. medal was awarded on 8th March 1946.

Full Entitlement Medal Group of Three for Service in Both the Boer War and Great War, Rifle Brigade & Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, Queens South Africa medal, ghost dates on reverse with clasps Transvaal and Laing’s Nek, engraved naming, ‘5718 PTE H PIESLEY RIFLE BDE’, Kings South Africa medal with 2 clasps, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902, impressed naming, ‘5718 PTE. H. PIESLEY RIFLE BRIGADE’, British War medal, ‘20467 PTE. H. PIESLEY OXF. & BUCKS L.I.’ Medals and clasps confirmed on the relevant rolls and British War medal is confirmed as his full entitlement for the Great War. Change of service number is confirmed on his service records. Henry Piesley, an 18 year old groom from Hammersmith, London, attested for service in the Rifle Brigade on 2nd April 1898. He was discharged to class B reserve on 1st April 1910 on termination of his period of engagement. During the Great War he served with the 1st Garrison Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in India from October 1916 to November 1919 and was discharged to Class Reserve the following month.
