Royal Naval Warrant Officers Sword, fine regulation polished blade by R C James & Co, Queen Street, Portsmouth, etched with crowned fouled anchor, royal arms, and on back edge J.ORE, R.N. and London Made, regulation brass hilt with folding side guard, plain chequered gripstrap and pommel, wire bound black fish skin covered grip, bullion dress knot, in its brass mounted leather scabbard. Blade 79cms. Good condition, chape secured to scabbard with tape.

WW2 GERMAN PARTY FLAG / RECOGNITION FLAG CAPTURED IN LUXEMBOURG BY US GI IN 1944, interesting single sided NSDAP party flag or possibly vehicle recognition flag which has been cut down. The flag has large central swastika. Inked to the bottom ‘Luxembourg 44’. 29′ x 29′ approx.

WW1 British 02 Pattern Other Ranks Service Dress Tunic, fine example of a khaki wool four pocket other ranks 1902 pattern service dress tunic with regimental buttons of the Royal Engineers to the front and pockets. RE brass shoulder titles and felt white over blue signallers arm bands, signallers trade badge and chevron to the lower sleeve. Other sleeve with three overseas service chevrons. British war medal and allied victory medal ribbon above the breast pocket indicating wear in the Post WW1 years, probably as part of the army of occupation. Partial white lined interior to the tunic. Generally a good example.

Livery Button Sets, eight early, unmarked silver buttons (18mm diam.) to the Yarborough family with Back Mark: ‘IOHN WILLIAMS’ (John Williams, London Silversmith 1791-1800). Five large silver plated buttons (25.4mm) to Earl Fitzwilliam, BMs: ‘BIDDELL, DRURY LANE’ and ‘I. ROGERS & SON, SHEFFIELD’ and ‘FIRMIN & SONS LTD’, plus one small. Nineteen large silver plated buttons to Percy, Duke of Northumberland with BMs: ‘FIRMIN & SONS Ld.’ and ‘R.E. HAYWARD, 50 LONG ACRE, LONDON’. Twelve wreath on crossed lances silver plated buttons with BM: ‘Best Quality. M.S. & J.D.’ (M. Smith and John Dolan of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London, were in partnership in the 1820-30s). (45 items)

Blade 80cms. Good condition.

Historically Interesting Silver Tray Presented by Fellow SS Officers to SS-Standartenführer Julian Scherner, Breslau 1936, the large tray, with presentation inscription ‘ihrem kameraden SS-Standartenführer Scherner, Breslau, den 15. im hornung 1936’ with engraved signatures by several higher ranks SS officers. 32cms circumference tray, ‘830’ silver hallmarked, maker marked ‘Gerhardt Hillman of Breslau’. <br>Julian Scherner was born in 1895, he served during WW1, being wounded and captured by the French. Scherner was involved in the famous Munich Beer Hall Putsch in 1923, where he was injured. Scherner joined the SS on 28 December 1932, and became a salaried SS officer in June 1934. Scherner commanded the SS training camp at Dachau between October 1937 and March 1940. Scherner eventually relocated to the SS Officer School at Bad Tölz. From September 1939 to 11 November 1939 he was regimental commander of the SS-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 11 “”Reinhard Heydrich””. From summer to the winter of 1940, he was commander of the 8 Totenkopf-Standarte. As an SS garrison commander of Prague, between January and September 1941, Scherner supervised preparations for the establishment of a Waffen-SS training camp at Benešov, Bohemia. On 4 August 1941, Scherner was appointed SS and Police Leader in German-occupied Kraków. He was responsible for many war crimes and was involved in the murder and deportation of people from occupied Poland during his time. At the end of the war he was demoted by the SS for his conduct in relation to stolen property. He was sent to a Waffen-SS combat unit in 1945. He was found dead shortly before the war ended in a wooded area near Heidesee between Märkisch Buchholz and Halbe

Rare Hand Signed Document from SS-Obergruppenfuhrer Reinhard Heydrich to Generalmajor der Polizei Heinrich Müller, this confirmation letter from January 1941 confirms the privileges to Müller within the SD of the Berlin District. Interesting historical letter with a rare hand signature of Heydrich. His signature is extremely rare to find as he did not appear to sign many documents and he died early on in WW2.
Reinhard Heydrich was one of the most feared man in the Third Reich, even Adolf Hitler called him ‘The Man with the Iron Heart’. Heydrich was the Deputy Protector of Bohemia and Moravia and rose to the SS rank of SS-Obergruppenfuhrer before he died from blood poisoning after an assassination attempt on him by Czech and Slovak agents as part of the S.O.E (Special Operations Executive) on 4th June 1942. Heydrich was greatly responsible for many of the atrocities carried out against civilians and military targets in occupied Europe, especially in Czechoslovakia, gaining the nickname ‘The Butcher of Prague’. He is said to have been responsible for coming up with the final solution. Any item relating to Reinhard Heydrich is extremely rare. -

WW2 GERMAN LUFTWAFFE M-40 BATTLE DAMAGED HELMET SHELL, interesting example of a standard M-40 pattern steel combat helmet with the remains of the Luftwaffe 2nd pattern decal to the side. Helmet retains much of the original blue paint finish to the shell. Stress fracture crack to one side caused by battle damage. Helmet has been fitted with a post WW2 European leather liner. Shell is stamped ‘ET64’ and ‘5018’.

American Made Royal Air Force 1918 Pattern Other Ranks Tunic, interesting khaki four pocket tunic with bronzed RAF 1st pattern tunic buttons. Embroidered red eagle airman arm badges. Fixed cloth waist belt with brass buckle. Two wound stripes to the lower arm. American medal ribbon to the breast pocket. Interior partially khaki lined. The tunic shows evidence of being converted from a standard US tunic. An unusual item.
