#271 – WW2 1942 Dated Airborne Forces Denison Smock (Лот: 10337)
WW2 1942 Dated Airborne Forces Denison Smock, fine example of an early pattern Denison jump smock with knitted woollen cuffs, half zip front and crutch strap. All button snaps being brass and stamped ‘NEWEY PAT’. The smock colours remain good. Interior has its original size label, ‘SMOCKS – DENISON (AIRBORNE TROOPS) SIZE 5’, manufacturer details of John Barran & Sons Ltd, Leeds. Overall a very good example of an early period smock, type most likely to have been used in the early airborne operations carried out by the British forces, it is believed that the early dated examples would have been most likely worn by Airborne forces parachuting into Normandy the night before the D-Day landings.
