Impressive WW2 German Eastern Front Photograph Album, large album covering one mans service with the German army during WW2, album begins with his early enlistment and training in the 1930’s, good images of Military parades and comrades. Soon moves into the early invasion of Poland and then the west. Later moves onto the advance east with many good privately taken photographs of battle damage, architecture, civilian refuges, battlefield funerals, etc. Many of the images are annotated underneath. Approx 350+ photographs.

EMOTIVE FRAMED DISPLAY OF CORRESPONDENCE RELATING TO THE DEATH OF FLIGHT OFFICER W T LAMBERT D.F.M ROYAL AIR FORCE ON 23RD DECEMBER 1944, the finely framed grouping of documents consist of the original forwarding letter from his Wing Commander of No109 squadron informing his parents of his fate, at the time only presumed missing, photograph of his crew in North Africa, photograph of him in RAF uniform, Pathfinder sleeve badge, photograph of his grave, photograph of him and his mother probably outside of Buckingham Palace after receiving his Distinguished Flying Medal, Ely Cathedral memorial programme and four letters, two from him to his parents during wartime, one from the British Red Cross Society and another one detailing that he had been killed (presumably from a commanding officer). The set is all professionally framed for display.

WW2 GERMAN KRIEGSMARINE NAMED OFFICERS DRESS DAGGER BY CARL EICKHORN, SOLINGEN, fine example of a standard 2nd model naval officers dress dagger with gilt metal eagle pommel, white celluloid grip with the original wire binding, cross guard with press button to the centre. Housed in the original gilt metal scabbard with two hanging rings. Fine condition blade with the standard etched design of foliage and anchor. Makers trademark to the base of the blade, opposite side is the name of the original owner, ‘W. Reppmann’ finished in gilt. Blade 9 ¾ ‘. Overall generally a good example with research potential.

Grouping of WW2 Home Front Badges, Pye of Cambridge WW2 On War Service Pin No. S120, 25mm high, issued to war workers, many in outlying villages to avoid the bombings of Cambridge factories. Pye was critical in designing and manufacturing radio and radar equipment and proximity fuses during WWII. No enamel damage; Richard Garrett Engineering Works of Leiston, Suffolk, WW2 National Service Pin No. 1225 (Thomas Fattorini, B’ham maker). No enamel damage; Raynard Nurses Bronze Badge, c1930-40s, 35mm high (maker: HW Miller Ltd.). Ellen Raynard founded this nursing service in 1868 recruited from poorer women who trained at London hospitals and who became known as the ‘Bible Nurses’ ministering as London’s only district nurses for eight decades, continuing throughout the Blitz.

Images start in Paris with images of the city which could be purchased, then moves onto the Eastern Front, good images of vehicles issued to the Luftwaffe in various states of repairs. Many good images in the Russian winter, many of which are captioned. Some original documents also included in the album. (142 images)

WWII GERMAN LUFTWAFFE M-42 STEEL COMBAT HELMET, good untouched example of a single decal Luftwaffe steel combat helmet with much of its original dark combat paint finish to the shell. Complete with its original subdued Luftwaffe eagle decal, about 85% present. Interior retains its original brown leather liner and original leather chinstrap. The shell is stamped to the rear ‘NS6-‘ (last digit not clear) and ‘5219’. Generally a good example.

THIRD REICH SS (SCHUTZSTAFFEL) ERASED ROHM INSCRIPTION DRESS DAGGER BY GOTTLIEB HAMMESFAHR, SOLINGEN-FOCHE, good untouched example of a enlisted mans dress dagger with ebony grip having nickel silver eagle and enamel SS runes emblem. Lower cross guard stamped with the original owners SS number ’32 604′, this is over the top of the district stamp ‘I’. Housed in scabbard with single hanging ring. Double edged blade with motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’, reverse with makers trademark to the base. Blade shows clear evidence of removal of a Rohm dedication inscription to the reverse. Some overall wear. Blade 8 ¾ ‘.

WW2 Royal Signals Battle Dress Blouse with Private Snap Shot Photographs of VE Day in London 1945, good example of a Canadian made battle dress blouse with printed shoulder titles of the Royal Signals, British army in France formation signs above arm of service stripes. Good conduct / service chevrons and warrant officers sleeve insignias to the bottom section. Tunic ribbon bar for service in Africa, Italy and North West Europe. Accompanied by his general service side cap with war economy plastic regimental cap badge. Also in the pocket of the battle dress was the original owners service book, which shows the set belonged to George Attwooll Axe, from Exeter in Devon. In the back of the service book are a number of black and white snapshot photographs of him and his sweetheart, also some interesting privately taken photographs of the crowds gathering and celebrating the end of the war in Europe, famously known as VE day (8th May 1945). Some light areas of mothing but otherwise a nice battle dress with interesting unpublished private photographs of one of the most celebrated events of the 20th century.

WW2 German Memorial Photograph and Document Album to a German Army Officer Killed on the Eastern Front in 1945, the album is beautifully annotated and kept like a diary. Images of himself in uniform, images of his comrades and also group image of him and his father, both in officers combat uniform. Documents include a death notice, letter sent to his brother the day he died and other feldpost letters and documents. Coloured illustrations and maps also are found in the album pages. Approx 48 photographs in the album.

WWII GERMAN ARMY M-35 DOUBLE DECAL STEEL COMBAT HELMET, very good example of a classic M-35 double decal steel combat helmet which retains much of its original early apple green paint finish to the shell. Helmet has its original army decal which has toned and its original tri-colour decal, about 90% and 95% present accordingly. Helmet retains the original liner system to the inside and has a damaged leather chinstrap. Part of the early aluminium liner band is now absent. Shell is stamped ‘Q64’ and batch number ‘812’. The helmet shows some wear but generally is a good example of a now hard to find double decal steel helmet.

WW1 American Camouflaged Steel Helmet Shell, interesting British made shell with a unusual camouflage style painted pattern. With the original chinstrap mounts having split pin fittings but no strap or lining. The style and colours of the painting would indicate that this is a souvenired helmet.

THIRD REICH SA (STURMABTEILUNG) ERASED ROHM INSCRIPTION DRESS DAGGER BY J A HENCKELS ZWILINGSWERK SOLINGEN, good untouched example of a SA enlisted mans dress dagger with wooden grip having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA emblem inserted. Lower cross guard district stamped to the corner ‘Bo’. Housed in its anodised scabbard with nickel mounts. Carved into the grip is a ‘W’ possibly by the original owner or the GI who brought the dagger home as a souvenir from Europe. Fine double edged blade with much of the original polish remaining. Blade with standard motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’. Reverse of the blade with the makers trademark and clear evidence of the removal of a Ernst Rohm dedication. Blade 8 ¾ ‘.
