#180 – Representation of a WW2 M2, D-Bale US Paratroopers Helmet (Лот: 11926)
Representation of a WW2 M2, D-Bale US Paratroopers Helmet, This helmet in our opinion, has been assembled to represent the M2 D-bale US Paratroopers helmet as used in WW2. The Liner is of Belgium origin, which is peak has been trimmed back. One of the ‘A’ frame chin strap sections has broken away from the inside rivet. The shell is a front seem example, but with suspected later addition ‘D-bales’. A reproduction chin strap has also been added. The shell has been repainted and a camo net with hessian added.

#181 – US Army Paratroopers Helmet (Лот: 11927)
US Army Paratroopers Helmet, US airborne helmet, made up with period parts dating to the post war period. The shell itself is a rear seam, swivel bale type with post war chin straps that have been stitched together from parts. The shell is US origin with heat/lot number stamped to the inner rim, part visible ‘128A’ shows but not clear. The liner is an original airborne jump liner with the ‘Westinghouse Electrical Co’ stamp to the inside. The A frames with typical Westinghouse style buckles, are held in with the liner band rivets and leather chin cup in situ. Overall a good entry level helmet to fill a gap in a US Airborne collection.

#182 – Extremely Rare British Union of Fascists (B.U.F) Political Rally Banner / Standarte (Лот: 10248)
Extremely Rare British Union of Fascists (B.U.F) Political Rally Banner / Standarte, this single sided banner produced in a heavy red cloth with applied central lightning bolt emblem of the organisation enclosed in laurel wreath. The shield shaped flag has blue and white knotted tassels to the edges, with the top edge having the 8 cloth loops (four each side) which the marching pole would have been fitted through. The flag is single sided. Some staining and wear, with the flag appearing at one time to have got wet, possibly from poor storage in its life and some of the colours have run, but an incredibly rare item from the BUF to find. These official political party banners were produced to replicate the powerful images of the Third Reich in Germany in the 1930’s, where the use of the Deutschland Erwache standarte was used to great political propaganda, Sir Oswald Mosley leader of the British Union of Fascists, wanted to recreate these strong political images in Britain before WW2. Many images can be found of official marches and rallies held by the BUF, where these banners are being paraded. An image of these banners in use can be seen in this listing, please note this photograph does not accompany the lot, simply to illustrate the banner in use at the time.
