Ставки принимаются через менеджераWWII GERMAN LUFTWAFFE FLAK NCO’S PEAKED CAP WITH EREL MAKERS TAG, superb example of a private purchase Luftwaffe enlisted mas peaked cap produced in a fine quality cloth with red piping to the crown and bordering the central black ribbed band. Aluminum cap eagle and cockade with patent chinstrap and plain black side buttons. Peak with green cross hatch design to the underside. Interior of the cap has leather sweatband with perforated forehead section and silver leaf ‘Erel’ makers details, yellow satin cloth lining with full tailors celluloid diamond having silver leaf Erel details and still the original Erel paper label attached to the diamond which is very rare to find. Overall a superb example which you would struggle to find better.

Аукцион завершенМинимальная цена продажи 60 £ не достигнутаBoer War Interest South African Horn Corkscrew, carved to the horn handle ‘7965 G Co R.C.R 1899’ to the edge is carved ‘597 2nd C.M.R 1900’. Steel corkscrew with some surface rusting, light cracking to the horn but generally good example. This corkscrew was fashioned by Canadian trooper, John A McLeod who volunteered to fight in the Boer War, first serving with the Royal Canadian Regiment in 1899 until invalided home in March 1900. He then re-enlisted and was sent back to South Africa in January 1902 with the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles.

Ставки принимаются через менеджераRARE THIRD REICH D.L.V (DEUTSCHE LUFTSPORTVERBAND) PEAKED VISOR CAP, superb example of a enlisted ranks cap for the German air sports association (Deutsche Luftsportverband) known as the D.L.V, pre-runner to the German Luftwaffe. The cap is of blue grey wool with light blue piping to the crown and bordering the ribbed black central band. Cap has early pattern short winged cap eagle and enameled winged propeller emblem of the organization below. Cap with its original patent chinstrap and plain domed buttons. Near mint condition interior of the cap with orange cloth lining with un-marked celluloid diamond. Stamped to the interior is unit marking, ‘Eigentum DLV Landesgruppe 4’. Tan leather sweatband to the interior of the cap. Overall an excellent example of a very rare to find peaked cap.

Аукцион завершенМинимальная цена продажи 500 £ не достигнутаBoer War Archive of Items Relating to Lieutenant Cyril Herbert Smith Gloucestershire Regiment, Stationed on the Island of St Helena to Guard Boer Prisoners, the archive of items which includes a fine personal photograph album compiled by Smith whilst on the island, some images taken by local photographer A.L.Innes of Jamestown. One image shows the captured Boer general Cronje with his staff/entourage (including Mrs Cronje) and their escort of British guards. Other photographs are smaller and most likely were taken by Cyril himself and show life of an officer and contrast the prisoners on the island. The album has been rebound at some point. Also with the grouping is a superb Boer prisoner made desk tidy which has pen rests and tiny little drawers which open and were presumably intended for pen nibs or other small accessories. Small ivory fittings for the drawers; Six wooden walking sticks carved by Boer POWs. Each has a distinctive carved top, two are the heads of dogs, one ball and claw etc. The grouping was acquired by the current vendor from the son of Cyril Herbert Smith. The beret has beige lining with black leather trim. Black leather rectangular patch behind the gromets. The beret shows some service wear with a few scattered areas of moth tracking.

Complete with the hanging chain boss mounts. Linked hanging chain attached to the rear mounts. Dark blue / black felt backing cloth to the reverse of the gorget. Some tarnishing and wear but generally still a good example.

Good quality field grey cloth body which has some fading and evidence of wear. Good quality satin cloth lined interior with leather partial sweatband. Interior and exterior shows some wear but still a good example of a generals side cap.
