Helmet with infantry star to the front. Interior of the helmet has leather liner band with three leather liner pads and cloth chinstrap ties. Helmet retains its original cloth field cover with embroidered felt infantry star insignia to the centre. The cover has white lining with ink issue stamps. Generally a good example.

Although not matching in colour, they do make a good set. Hard items of Japanese military uniform to find.

The set consists of a mixture of original and later reproduction items. This includes full tunic and trousers with original insignia and buttons, restored or reproduction type 90 steel combat helmet with Infantry star badge, reproduction summer pattern cap with cloth neck tabs. Original pair of cloth putties and leather ankle boots (not removed to check). Leather waist belt, ammunition pouches, haversack with ground sheet, gas mask bag with gas mask, medical pouch, Arisaka bayonet with frog, etc. All fitted to a good quality display mannequin. Sold as a display set. The set includes other ranks winter pattern wool four pocket tunic with its original buttons. To the collar is machine woven other ranks collar patches. Correct pair of brown wool Japanese other ranks trousers. Other ranks brown leather waist belt with metal buckle. Attached to the belt are a pair of Arisaka ammunition pouches. Large canvas ‘Octopus’ type back pack with the original straps. Small canvas haversack bag also to the reverse. Leather medical pouch, canvas gas mask bag and the original other ranks gas mask with its canister. Brown painted other ranks water bottle with its original shoulder strap and harness. Khaki wool puttees above a pair of brown leather other ranks ankle combat boots. Type 90 other ranks combat helmet which has its padded cloth cover with felt yellow infantry star patch to the centre. Interior of the cover white lined with ink issue stamps. The steel helmet itself also has much of the original paint finish to the shell. Japanese infantry helmet star badge to the centre. Interior of the helmet retains the leather liner band with three leather liner pads. The set appears to be in excellent overall condition. We have not removed any items from the mannequin and the set is being sold as seen. Sold with the mannequin. Accompanied by a matching pair of officers breeches and a pair of brown leather officers boots. Equipment includes brown leather backpack with cloth poncho / ground sheet attached. Officers pattern cloth covered water bottle with harness strap and aluminium cup. Officers leather map case and original pair of officers binoculars in their canvas case of issue with shoulder strap. Some wear to the leather work with dryness and cracking. Officers field cap with yellow cloth infantry star mounted to the centre. Typical type chinstrap with plain side buttons. Rear of the cap with the eyelets and cloth ties. Interior with leather sweatband and white cloth lining. Japanese WW2 army officer’s sword katana, blade 65.8cms, signed with 4 characters (Showa to), gunome hamon, fair polish with some superficial rust stains, in shin gunto mounts with regulation brass tsuba, tape bound same tsuka, in its lacquered saya with regulation brass mounts and some details inked onto pine wood block (incomplete) and tied to scabbard. The set appears to be in generally good overall condition. We have not removed any items from the mannequin and the set is being sold as seen.
