Rare Imperial German Pickelhaube for Prussian Infantry Regiment Nr76 (Hamburg – 2nd Hanseatic Infantry Regiment), untouched as found example of a leather bodied enlisted ranks pickelhaube with Prussian other ranks helmet plate to the centre, other ranks pattern spike with plain domed studs. Original front trim (split to the centre) and rear spine piece. Helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap, reichs cockade and rare special pattern cockade for Infantry regiment Nr76 in the form of the red Hamburg cross on white backing. Interior of the helmet retains the original leather liner system. Rear peak of the helmet has ink stampings ‘J.R. 76’ and date 1912. Inked name to the underside of the front peak. The helmet is untouched and has never been cleaned with all the exterior fittings retaining a dark patina. Super example of a rare regimentally marked helmet.
