WW1 British Steel Combat Helmet with Postcard Sent Back from the Front, superb example of an early WW1 British Brodie steel helmet without the brim covering. The helmet has a rough textured finish to the exterior of the shell. Remains of the early apple green paint finish can be seen on the interior side of the shell. Helmet is complete with its original oilskin liner which has the pink stamp to the underside. Helmet retains the leather chinstrap, however this has become detached in the centre. Accompanying the helmet is an original French Postcard of Le Havre written presumably by the original owner of the steel helmet to a young girl back in Scotland, sadly no indication who the writer was.
