Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Enlisted Ranks Sword by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, being an army pattern enlisted ranks dove head type sword with SS runes etched to the langet, steel fittings with celluloid grip having wire binding. Reverse of the langet stamped ‘S.D. 540’. Housed in the blackened curved scabbard. Curved polished blade which is etched with the SS motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and with Carl Eickhorn makers trademark to the base. The bottom section of the blade is well worn without polish. Blade 84 ¾ cms, overall 102cms. Wear to the exterior fittings with plating loss and small dents to the scabbard. Various designs and styles of these swords were produced in the early stages of the Schutzstaffel before the introduction of the standard SS sword degen.
