#70-0026 – Brandt, Walter – Knight’s Cross winner grouping – Crete and Africa (Лот: 4414)
Grouping to Oberleutnant Walter Brandt, Knight’s Cross winner on 24. March 1943 as Flugzeugführer of the I./Jagdgeschwader 77. He was also awarded the German Cross in Gold and Luftwaffe Honor Goblet. Oberleutnant Brandt flew a total of 527 sorties during WWII and achieved 57 aerial victories. He was involved in the campaigns in Crete and Africa.An excellent painting (portrait) showing him as an Oberfeldwebel. He wears all of his awards. Painted on canvas and mounted on a wooden board. Artist’s signature by H. Vohs. On the back is a paper tag with the dedication ‘Ihrem Lazarettkameraden Ofw. Walter Brandt zur Erinnerung an den Aufenthalt im Teillazarett Ursulinenkloster. Dorsten, Juli 1943’. Comes with a postwar frame. Size painting: 31×40 cm.Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross with the neck ribbon. German Cross in Gold. Squadron Clasp for Kampfflieger in Gold. Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge. 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class. Krim Shield. Wound Badge in Silver. 1957-types! Ribbon to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class (original). All badges are placed in a frame.11 original portrait photos. Most of them show Walter Brandt. Unfortunately, no photo showing him with the Knight’s Cross. Furthermore, 18 photos (postwar) showing his grave and funeral. He died on 18. January 1977 in Bottrop, Germany.Including postwar documents, newspaper clippings, and photocopies of original documents. Among them is a 3-page document about his missions (handwritten by him). It begins with the Battle of Britain and ends on 3. March 1945. Signs of use. Good condition.

Knight’s Cross on 15 July 1941 and Oak Leaves on 27. June 1942.Included is a portrait (press) photo of him.
