Queens South Africa Medal to a Recipient in the Royal Army Medical Corps who Died of Disease at Pretoria in May 1901, Queens South Africa medal with 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal, ‘13658 PTE. C.R. ECK R.A.M.C.’ harles Roderick Eck was born in Valporaiso in Chile, South America and enlisted on 12th March 1900. He is shown as died of disease on 24th May 1901 in Pretoria. He is on the medal roll for No.7 General Hospital which confirms the issue of the medal with these 3 clasps. An additional roll shows entitlement to the South Africa 1901 clasp but indicates no entitlement to the Kings medal but he does also appear on the roll for the Kings South Africa medal with a note that the medal was returned on 18th February 1907.

TAYLOR HAMPS. R.’ James Taylor served in the 4th Battalion and was disembodied on 12th March 1919. Post war he lived in Romsey, Hampshire. Change of service number is confirmed on his medal index card, he also served as 204034.

Plate with three screw post fittings to the reverse.

Great War Medal Pair to an Officer in the Royal Army Service Corps Attached to the Royal Air Force, British War and Victory medals, ‘2. LIEUT. G.C.P. BIRCH’. Geoffrey Cecil Perigrine Birch was born in Kettering in October 1884, during the Great War he served with the 10th Battalion Royal Fusiliers (service number STK/30) landing in France on 14th August 1915 qualifying for the 1914-15 star. Commissioned on 10th November 1915 into the Royal Army Service Corps his records also indicate he was on attachment to the Royal Air Force. He died in Chichester in October 1933.

Rare Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger by Klittermann & Moog, Haan Solingen, fine untouched example of a model 33 SS enlisted mans dress dagger with the original grip having eagle and enamel SS runes. Reverse of the cross guard with ‘I’ district stamp. Housed in its scabbard with a three piece leather hanging strap. Near mint condition blade which retains much of the cross grain finish. This maker along with examples by Jacobs have the special pattern motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue!’. Makers trademark to the reverse of the blade. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Good patina to the exterior fittings of the dagger.

Queens South Africa Medal to the Royal Army Medical Corps, medal with clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State and South Africa 1901. 19-Year-old Oliver Mitchell, a joiner from Ripon, Yorkshire, attested on 28th December 1901. He served for 228 days which included 174 days in South Africa before he was discharged at hi own request on 12th August 1902. The medal is confirmed on the R.A.M.C. roll with the clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State and South Africa 1902, entitlement to the South Africa 1901 clasp is not shown on the roll.

Victorian 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot Officers Shoulder Belt Plate 1837-63 Pattern, fine gilt rectangular backing plate with silvered crowned circlet having regimental details within and centre 93 on seeded backing dome, enclosed within a thistle wreath and lower ribbon with ‘CAPE OF GOOD HOPE’. Two studs and hooks fittings to the reverse. Generally good condition.

MITCHELL TR M.F.A.’ Charles John Mitchell was born in Liverpool on 26th July 1886 and joined the Royal Navy as a stoker on 30th July 1904. He was demobilised on 18th March 1919, he did not qualify for a Long Service Medal due to 5 periods of detention during his service. His younger brother, William, served as a Trimmer in the Mercantile Fleet Auxiliary

GERMAN ARMY WWII OFFICERS LION HEAD SWORD, A WKC model ‘1016’ as pictured on pg. 136 in’Swords Of Germany’ by Angolia, the attractive hilt is gold-gilted aluminum retaining 90% of its finish, the langet has a SA style short-winged eagle, the black celluloid grip retains all of its brass wire, the blade has lite wear but very clean, the scabbard retains 95% of its black paint & American GI has scratched his name into it, overall low exc.
