Ставки принимаются через менеджераQueens South Africa Medal to a Recipient in the South Wales Borderers who was Killed in Action in 1914 Whilst Serving with the Royal Welch Fusiliers, Queens South Africa medal with three clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Johannesburg, ‘6001 PTE. C, HENNESSEY. S. WALES B:’ Cornelius Hennessey from Cork, Ireland attested for service in the South Wale Borderers on 13th August 1898 aged 18. He served for 12 years and 323 days including 2 years and 254 days in South Africa before his discharge on 12th August 1910. He was imprisoned for 14 days with hard labour in September 1905. During the Great War he was serving with the Royal Welch Fusiliers (service number 10940) was presumed killed on 30th October 1914.Cornelius Hennessy (sic) is remembered on the Menin Gate, Ypres. Medal and 3 clasps are confirmed on the roll of the 2nd Battalion, he is also entitled to the Kings South Africa medal and a 1914 Star trio for the Great War.

Ставки принимаются через менеджераThird Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dagger with Name of Original Owner Etched to Blade, by Ed Wusthof, Solingen, good untouched example of an early pattern SA dress dagger with brown wooden grip, enamel SA device and nickel eagle. Housed in a early anodised scabbard with the top scabbard mount having a two piece brown leather hanger fitted. Double edged blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trademark to the base of the reverse. Neatly engraved to the reverse of the blade is the name of the original owner, ‘Georg Reigs’. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms.

GRATTON 45TH REGT.’ rivate Jacob Gratton seems to have had an interesting time in South Africa having been tried by Court Martial for drunkenness on at least 5 occasions, 5th August 1853, sentenced 4 months hard labour, 20th December 1853, sentenced 84 days hard labour, 16th April 1857, sentenced 90 days hard labour, 26th July 1856, sentenced 56 days hard labour and 28th July 1858, sentenced to 84 days hard labour.

H.C. KIRK, 85TH BTY, RFA’, Kings South Africa Medal with 2 clasps, ‘72637 DVR: H.C. KIRK R.F.A.’ 18-year-old labourer, Henry Charles Kirk, originally from Islington London, attested for service in the Royal Artillery at Preston on 16th April 1889. He served in India for 5 years and 94 days and was transferred to the Army Reserve on 16th April 1896. Her was recalled to the colours on 4th December 1899 and served in South Africa for 2 years and 84 days before being discharged on 12th April 1902 having served a total of 12 years and 362 days. Henry Charles Kirk is confirmed on the rolls for both medals and all 5 clasps and is not entitled to any other medals.

R.N.’, Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct medal, GV 1st type, ‘346239 W.T.N. JAMES, SHIPT 1. H.M.S. COLUMBINE’. Group mounted as worn, some slight contact wear to service number on British War medal. William Thomas Nigel James was born in Portsmouth on 6th December 1888 and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Shipwright in Portsmouth Shipyard on 10th July 1903. Awarded his Long Service medal in December 1921 he was pensioned off on 5th December 1928. He rejoined on 18th October 1939 serving through the Second World War until he was released on 20th November 1946 and would be entitled to additional medals for his service.

William Donald attested for service on 11th January 1900 and was discharged at Johannesburg on 10th January 1902. He is confirmed on the 1st Railway Pioneer Regiment roll for both medals and clasps.

Ставки принимаются через менеджераThird Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen with Gilded Motto and Makers Trademark, interesting example of a standard SA dress dagger with brown wooden handle having nickel silver eagle and enamel SA device. Fine condition grip mounts with the reverse of the lower guard being stamped ‘Nm’. Housed in the original scabbard with single hanging ring. Denting to the ball of the lower scabbard mount. Good condition double edged blade with the motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ which has been gilded, as has the Carl Eickhorn makers trademark to the reverse. Interestingly on the obverse of the blade near the lower cross guard is the remains of another stamp. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37 ½ cms. Page 296 & 297 of ‘The Service Daggers of the SA and NSKK’ by Siegert, shows a SA marine dagger with a gilded motto.
