Grouping of Personal Snap Shot Photograph Albums Documenting a British Women’s Visit to Germany in the 1930’s, the grouping of three albums were compiled by Judith Dobell, the daughter of Lieutenant General Sir Charles Dobell Royal Welch Fusiliers. Many very good close up images of life during the Third Reich period with good images taken at the various rally parade grounds, these shots being good uniform images of early SS, SA, NSKK, RAD and Political leaders etc. During her visit to Germany, she was present at the Olympic games in Berlin, 1936, and one album has images taken in the Olympic stadium. This same album has images taken around other parts of Germany which gives a good insight into life for civilians under the Third Reich in this period of history. Accompanying the albums are four period publications, two relating to the 1936 Berlin Olympics, one on Adolf Hitler and the other on the German Wehrmacht. Overall this archive of material is an excellent record of the pre-war period.
