WW2 German Army Wehrpass Infantry Regiment 290 and Later Grenadier Regiment 978 in Normandy, well filled out Wehrpass issued to Karl Robert Gauss who originally served with various infantry regiments including J.R.290, Grenadier replacement battalion 342 and then Grenadier Regiment 978 in France. He served in the RAD and the uniform photograph to the inside shows him in RAD uniform. He served in the initial invasion of France and then moved to the Eastern Front before being wounded, once recovered from his wounds he returned to service in Normandy with Grenadier Regiment 978 until being wounded again in August 1944. He appears to have been awarded the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd class, Infantry assault badge, etc. Generally good condition. Late Colin Kluth collection.
