Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Enlisted Ranks Sword by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, being an army pattern enlisted ranks dove head type sword with SS runes cut into the langet and blackened backing, plated fittings with celluloid grip having wire binding. Reverse of the langet stamped ‘S.D. 111’. Housed in the blackened curved scabbard. Curved polished blade which is etched with the SS motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and with Carl Eickhorn makers trademark to the base. Blade 83 cms, overall 98cms. Remains in good overall condition. Various designs and styles of these swords were produced in the early stages of the Schutzstaffel before the introduction of the standard SS sword degen.
