Unusual WW2 German Kriegsmarine Administration Officers Dress Dagger with Hanging Straps and Portepee by E & F Horster, Solingen, fine example of a very unusual silver plated Kriegsmarine officers dress dagger with white celluloid grip having the original wire binding. Eagle pommel top and cross guard with press button release. Attached to the grip is an original officers dress portepee / knot. Housed in silver plated standard type scabbard. Attached to the scabbard is a pair of worn administration section dagger hangers. Double edged blade with sailing ship etched design. Makers trademark to the base of the blade. The blade measures 25cms, overall 41 ½ cms. No official dagger was produced for administration officers so we can only assume that this was the choice of the officer who owned this dagger to have the fittings silver plated.
