Patent chinstrap and small black peak. Interior with a leather sweatband and red cloth lining. Cap shows some service wear.

WW1 German M-1910 Hessen / Bremen Artillery & Technical Troops Officers Peaked Cap, good stiff top officers peaked cap with field grey top, black velvet central band having red piped border and red piping to the crown. Painted officers state cockade and officers pattern Reichs cockade. Interior with light tan leather sweatband and officers artificial silk lining. Some wear and shredding to the lining and scuffs to sweatband. Small areas of moth to the piping but otherwise a good untouched example. The state of Hesse had only two Artillery regiments during WW1, so items of headdress to these units is scarce.

Imperial German Prussian Land Gendarmerie 1867 Other Ranks Pickelhaube, good example of the early pattern Imperial German pickelhaube with larger form and square dip peak. Helmet has the brass front trim, rear spine with rivet covers and cruciform spike base with plain domed rivets and larger spike. Helmet plate to the centre is the larger garde pattern with starburst to the centre of the helmet plate. Scaled leather backed chinstraps and other ranks state and reichs cockade, indicating being worn after the unification of Germany. Interior of the helmet retains the original leather liner system. Rear peak with inked regimental stampings and behind the plate is stamped ‘L.G 1902’. Overall a good example of an early pickelhaube which would have been worn up to the introduction of the later model 1895 which is associated more with WW1.

Imperial German Prussian Administration Officials Pickelhaube, officers pattern pickelhaube with square dip pattern peak having brass trim. Prussian eagle officers helmet plate without motto’s and with small silvered Prussian eagle to the lower section. Cruciform spike base with officers gilt metal securing stars and officers pattern spike. Helmet with officers pattern state and reichs cockades with scaled officers chinstraps. Helmet retains the original tan leather sweatband and part of the officers style cloth lining to the interior. Helmet shows some wear.

Imperial German Prussian Officers Pickelhaube, leather bodied helmet with brass front trim, officers Prussian eagle helmet plate, circular spike base with officers securing stars and tall officers spike. Helmet has officers type state and reichs pattern cockades which are supported by officers scaled chinstraps. Interior of the helmet has brown leather sweatband and brown cloth lining. The helmet shows some service wear but still generally a good example of an officers pickelhaube.

Imperial German Prussian Reserve Officers Pickelhaube, untouched as found example of a Prussian reserve officers pickelhaube with officers helmet plate to the centre with silver reserve cross and no motto. Brass front trim, rear spine, circular spike base with officers pattern securing stars and officers pattern spike. Officers reichs and state cockades supported by leather backed officers scaled chinstraps. Green leather to the underside of the front peak and red to the rear. Officers leather sweatband and cloth lining. Some staining to the shell and dulling to the fittings but generally still a good officers helmet.

Imperial German Prussian Reserve Other Ranks Pickelhaube, leather body other ranks pickelhaube with brass Prussian helmet plate and white metal reserve cross to the centre. Brass front trim, rear spine and other ranks spike fitting. Helmet is complete with the original other ranks state and reichs pattern cockades and leather chinstrap. Interior of the helmet retains the original leather liner system. Remains of paper label to the interior and name label of the original owner of the helmet, ‘Füsilier Gross 10. Comp. 88. Inf-Regt’. Section of the rear peak has been damaged and is now absent. Feint remains of the ink regimental stampings to the rear peak.

Inked name of the original owner to the interior crown of the helmet. Good patina to the helmet fittings. Overall an excellent untouched helmet.

WW1 German Ersatz Spun Steel Prussian Pickelhaube, good example of the scarce and desirable spun steel ersatz pickelhaube with field grey paint finish to the shell. Helmet has the original darkened Prussian other ranks helmet plate to the centre and darkened other ranks spike. Original reichs and state cockades with original chinstrap. Helmet has the original light tan leather liner system to the inside. Some surface rusting to the shell and some staining but generally a good example of a hard to find ersatz pattern helmet.

WW1 Prussian Reserve Infantry Regiment Nr52 M-15 Pickelhaube with Original Trench Cover, untouched as found example of a standard leather bodied M-15 grey metal pickelhaube with front trim, Prussian other ranks grey metal helmet plate with a surface rusting, rear spine and removable other ranks spike. Helmer has the original M-15 cloth trench cover with green felt ‘R 52’ to the centre. Cover is complete with the original fixing hooks. Helmet retains the original leather liner system. Rear peak has remains of a regimental stamping and also a stamp with 1918 date, indicating this helmet as issued to a reserve unit, was still being worn two years after the introduction of the steel helmet. Good untouched as found example.

WW1 German M-16 Battle Damaged Steel Combat Helmet, untouched example of a standard German M-16 steel combat helmet which retains much of its original field grey paint finish to the shell. The helmet has a small bullet entry hole to the bottom side and an exit hole and split to the opposite side. The helmet retains the leather liner band and three leather liner pads. The helmet shows expected wear. Good untouched example.

WW1 German M-17 Camouflaged Steel Combat Helmet, sleepy untouched barn found WW1 German steel helmet with the metal liner band (M-17) and remains of the three leather liner pad system. The exterior of the shell has a wavy camouflaged paint finish in brown, green and ochre with black separation lines. The shell has a surface rust which adds to the character of the helmet. Good original camouflaged helmet.

Imperial German Litewka Pattern Officers Tunic, fine quality grey tunic with double row of plain polished buttons, officers shoulder straps with white underlay. Stand up collar with white collar patches piped in blue. Blue piping to the collar, front and bordering the turn back cuffs. Medal ribbons for the Iron Cross 2nd class and the Oldenburg war cross. To the breast are medal award loops. Fine quality officers cloth lining to the interior of the tunic. Some minor moth nips but generally a good example.

Imperial German Medical Officers Litewka Pattern Field Grey Tunic and Peaked Cap, fine field grey double breasted tunic with plain domed buttons. Red piped collar, front and bordering the turned back cuffs. Blue felt rectangular collar patches and officers shoulder boards with blue underlay. Button hole with ribbons for EK2 and Wurttemberg Wilhems war service cross. The tunic has been modified to resemble a tunic of a aviator with replacement gilt metal winged propeller devices on the shoulder boards, a reproduction (in our opinion) Bavarian pilots badge and a Bavarian three piece medal bar. Officer quality lined interior. Tunic is accompanied by a WW1 medical officers field grey peaked cap with red piping and bordering the blue central band. Interior with grey sweatband and cloth lining, a card stiffener has been placed inside to keep its shape. Overall a good example of a WW1 officers field grey tunic which could easily be put back to its original type.

Imperial German Bavarian 12th Infantry Regiment Officers Model 1910 Field Grey Tunic, fine example of an early WW1 period model 1910 officers tunic constructed from a fine quality field grey wool, red piped collar, front and to the Brandenburg style cuffs. Tunic has Bavarian pattern buttons to the front, cuffs, shoulders and rear skirt. Officers bullion knotted shoulder boards with the Bavarian blue fleck an infantry white underlay. Loops to the breast for medal ribbon bar and Iron Cross 1st class award. Interior with officers quality lining and tailors label to the collar. Some miss-match material to the interior of the tunic but no alterations can be seen from the front, so it would appear to be just the lining which was period repaired. Overall a very good example of an early war Bavarian officers combat field grey tunic.
